This is the blog that I wrote on my website:
Hi everyone, Welcome to my website.
This is my first blog. I hope you find it interesting.
Since it's the first one, I think I should tell you about myself. I'm from New Bedford, Massachusetts. New Bedford was once called the Whaling Capital of the world. But I'll tell you more about New Bedford in a later chapter.
I'm considered by today's standards to be a senior citizen. There are days that I feel like one but for the most part I don't quite believe it. I have three grown children, 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two more on the way. I'm very active and have done many things during my lifetime.

I'm sure you've heard about the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker. Well those are three things that I haven't done. However I have been a waitress and a bartender. I owned and operated two art supply stores. The second one was an art supply store/art gallery/custom frame shop. I also owned and operated a Beauty Salon and a Property Management business.
For three years I wrote a weekly column for our local newspaper, The New Bedford Standard Times. My column was called Small Business Beat. My goal was to introduce new and existing small businesses in the area, which included New Bedford, Acushnet, Fairhaven and a few other surrounding towns.
For 18 years I sold real estate for a major company and also managed several mixed income and senior housing developments for a large property management company in Boston. I have worked with mentally challenged adults in a workshop setting. Most recently for five and a half years I was the coordinator at a Senior Center. Presently I am co-owner of an upscale Thrift shop.
However in my heart I'm an artist and always will be. That is why I've decided to create this website. Hopefully I will be able to guide you along the way. Or perhaps learn from some of you. If you have any tips or suggestions I will welcome them.
As I go along and with your help I will be posting information on techniques and materials. I will also post pictures of my artwork and/or crafts work. I would love to post some of yours as well from time to time.
Hope to see you soon
and
happy creating
Patti
