WA makes me $200 a day

So I've been here for nearly a year now, and hopefully without bragging, I'm pleased to say that WA makes me $200 a day, but not in the way that you might think...

I suppose the first thing you are going to ask me is how I do it. It's a good question and one I will most definitely answer. Before I go on, I think it's worth saying that I have worked my butt off to do it, but I want you to know that it certainly is possible, doable, and achievable.

To be honest, I haven't completed the certifications yet but that is something that I'm working on and will continue to work on as I would like to expand my online business further and completing the certifications I believe is a must. In order to have a consistently earning successful affiliate site, you have to put all the pieces in place and the best way to do that is FOLLOW THE TRAINING!!

So, the burning question!? I suppose I had better tell you what I'm doing to earn $200 a day...

What I have done in terms of the training provided here at WA is watch all of the videos including all of the live training WAbinars by Jay. This is an important step. When I first started I was keen to get my site up and running and went at it like a bull at a gate. What I realised was the more training I watched, the less I knew. Not such a bad thing because I knew I was learning more and more as I went along. What I noticed was that in hindsight, there are a lot of pieces to put together and I had done things that I found out later down the track needed to be changed to suit my life, style, and what I wanted in an internet business. I'm not by any means saying that following the training and acting upon the tasks is a bad thing to do, but as I found out more and more about the business and what was available to do online, I started putting together an entirely different plan from the one I started when I got to WA.

Whilst watching the training, I also noticed little hints and clues along the way. Mainly from Jay's training (I'll have to buy the guy lunch sometime). What dawned on me was that I could teach local people to do what I have been taught in order to get their digital marketing up and running.

As you may or may not know, I've been a professional musician for a long time so I have skills in recording and songwriting. What I do is combine that with some design skills and copy-writing to provide a package that I can sell to businesses, whether it be simple graphics for Facebook ad campaigns or fully produced ads. I do want you to know that I didn't do this before I joined WA, but being in the entertainment industry has certainly been beneficial in seeing what people do in the way of advertising.

I did take training outside of WA in regard to the design and copy-writing side of things. I didn't have any skills in these fields before I started at WA and I still have a long way to go in refining them. I think it's important to note that not all the skills that you may want to acquire for your business are found here at WA. That's totally fine. At some point in time I might contribute some training in these fields from what I've learned, but for now it is important to me to make it work for me before I start creating training because I want to be certain that what I create in the way of training is contributing to the WA community. I don't need to re-create training that has been done by the masters, so I''ll just leave that for now. Just remember that YouTube is your friend as well!

I basically went to 4 different local businesses and gave them a free assessment of their digital presence, which included where their website ranked (if they had one), what their social media pages were lacking and gave them 3 free strategies to give their digital marketing a "face lift".

What I found was that these people kinda knew what they needed to do and appreciated the strategies, but didn't have the time to produce the content or implement the strategies. This is the point where I say "well, I have a company that can do that for you".

So basically, I produce digital media for my clients and run their sites, social media and advertising.

I've only had to contact 4 businesses so far and that makes me $1400 a week, and it only takes up just over a third of my week, which gives me time to do all the things that I started this business in the first place to do! And that means I get to create my affiliate site...

The clues are all in the training, folks! It's scattered everywhere that you look. I remember reading a book years ago by Edward De Bono called 'Lateral Thinking'. He talked about a lot of different things, but one that stuck in my mind was about the benefits of landing a plane upside down. Seems ridiculous, doesn't it? What could the possible advantages be? He said that if the cock pit was on the underneath of the plane, you would be able to see the runway when you land. Another perspective. Food for thought...

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy lives to read this (if you made it this far!) and just remember that if you can look at your business from a few different angles, you might just find an angle that really resonates with you in a way you never thought possible.

Cheers,

Peter

Brilliant post! I'd better get watching them. Live training replays!

I kinda addicted TBH!!

yeah. Hi anyway

Thank you so much Peter for sharing your strategies. I'll try to do that in México.
Cheers to constant success.
Eugenio.

My pleasure. I would just make sure that this strategy is right for you before you continue. It's not for everyone. If you already have a good grasp of building websites and marketing and social media strategies, then go for it. Otherwise, I would recommend focusing on your own site and absorb all the training you can, whether it's here at WA or from other places (like graphic design and so on if you're interested in that type of thing). Good luck!

Hi Peter,
Great that you figured all that out! I'm also still working on the training, and along the way two friends asked me to put together websites for their sideline businesses. I don't want to charge them, but I am going to figure out a way to monetize their sites - with their permission of course - to make a few extra bucks.

Many ways to make money online, and WA is a great foundation.

To your continued success!

Wendy

Hey Wendy,

I know what you mean about doing stuff for friends. I've set up a couple of websites for friends businesses for free and told them to pay me when it starts making money, rather than putting my affiliate links on their sites. That's what feels right ethically for me to do. I want to help them but it's also my time, creativity and effort and they respect that.

As a professional musician I've seen a lot of amateurs water down the industry because they do gigs cheap or even for free just to get a foot in the door, and that makes it difficult for the seasoned professional who has spent a lot of time and money to perfect the craft to ask for reasonable prices because venue owners and managers think they can get someone cheap and free. A lot of venues actually know this is the case and take advantage of it, but that's a different story...

Anyway, I wanted to take that principle into this business. Making sure that I provide value means by default that I'll get rewarded. It doesn't mean that I would 'rip off' my friends, but they know that time and effort needs to be rewarded. The more value we offer each other, the more we receive (although as a teacher I'm sure you already know this)!

All the best,

Peter

Great to hear Peter, I remember listening to a cast Jay did a few years ago where he talked about meeting clients in a Hotel lobby and going through a presentation on how to improve their local rankings and put them on page 1.

I thought it sounded a good idea being located in the North of Ireland, just didn't have the time or guts to go out and do it.

I am glad you went after it and found out its lucrative.

Hey Mark,

If you are still thinking of doing it, you could probably do it all online in terms of talking to business owners and sharing your ideas. I just find that having a personal relationship where they've actually met me builds more trust plus being able to answer their questions face to face immediately also helps. The only tricky part with that is setting up a time to talk when they're not busy, but that depends on the business. One business I have on the books is a local restaurant and I know what the peak times are so I chose to go and speak to them when I knew they wouldn't be busy.

It's not the only way obviously, but at least I get to work at home when I want and I've got the time and cash flow now to work on building up content on my affiliate site.

Cheers,

Peter

Peter thank you for sharing this and it is worth a try. Great post.

Thanks Louisa! I've found it to work so I think it is definitely worth trying!

Big congrats Peter, I too see those opportunities with local business all around me and exactly like you say, a little extra training [all made easier due to the WA foundation] and we can provide a better package than these local businesses are currently being offered - still needs courage to go out there and do it, well done!

Thanks Mary. I really appreciate it. You're absolutely right re WA foundation. Hope everything is going the way that you plan.

That is brilliant! I may try that out at some point. It is amazing how many options are available. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Ayana! Give it a shot! It's actually a lot of fun using your creative powers to help others!
