Good Job We Do Not Know What Lies Ahead

I often comment about it being a Good Job We Do Not Know What Lies Ahead.

Everyones circumstances are different, even though at times we think and plan for the future, what is in front of us is always unknown.

From an early age, I knew that there was no way I could ever plan ahead. Yes I may have had plans in place, if a situation did not develope that was beyond my or my families control.

There are people I have met here at WA and some have had to leave, due to unforeseen circumstances. None of Us no matter Who We Are, can plan ahead of time as situations can change in a split second.

Yes we may put Preliminary Plans in Place, but that is all they are. A possibility that we will do something at a future time, provided everything runs smoothly and nothing unfortunate happens in the mean time.

A case in question, one Sunday a Lady from Church said I will see you tonight. I told her I was not sure. Later that afternoon, I was at home and started to struggle to breathe. My mother had only spoken with my about 20 mins before and everything seemed fine.

I had was just about able to use the stair life and make it to the bottom of the stairs. My father being silly asked if I was alright. I could not answer him properly, apart from just about say call an Ambulance.

Sometimes my father is not always the sharpest knife in the drawer, asking a silly question when he knows the answer. My mother just goes into overdrive, and asks where are your pajamas. Typical Nurse I suppose just remain calm and everything will be alright. Not really when it comes to their own children, panic from both parents.

While I as a patient remain calm just as if nothing had happened. Stupid Paramedic, oh you just want to go to hospital for an X-Ray they will just send you home again.

Well even though I had a letter to get an X-Ray a week later. Was not the reason for calling for an Ambulance. As soon as I arrived at the Accident and Emergency Department, the Nurse said Peter there is a Bed up on the Ward for you.

The paramedics jaw dropped, as he thought my Heart Rate of 145 and difficulty breathing was nothing to worry about. Straight into Resus for a while to get stabilized before being admitted to the ward, where I remained in hospital for 12 weeks, with two small spells at home for about 2 days and then 3 days, before landing up back in hospital.

Although I am sorry that I don't know your health situation; your article amazed me with your level of acceptance, your fortitude, your positive nature.....you are one shining example of just how much some go through and still don't give up.....even the fact you post to WA shows your commendable dedication!

Thank you, my health situation is quite complex and for some extremely difficult to understand. Not giving up and excepting your live as how it is, helps especially when you hear of so many people being depressed.

An 84 year old man stated the other day that I am his roll model. I thought that was so sweet to hear someone that has had their own share of ill health with throat cancer, say anything like that.
