My Quest to find a Niche

I would like to write an honest, unbiased article about CBD oil benefits, side effects, legality, dosage, etc.

No one wants bias reviews, due to the fact that it makes us look bad,

So I will give you the honest truth about CBD/cannabinoid products, without a bias opinoin.

CBD/Cannabinoid/Hemp Oils are flying off the shelves and into our medicine cabinets.

In the past decade

CBD went from a virtually unknown compound in marijuana to a hot ingredient in beauty products.

To a health-food fad, to a supplement touted on the internet for its ability to quell anxiety and even treat cancer.

It sounded like snake oil, but then I started noticing CBD everywhere. In the past year, my friends have started doing “the CBD thing”.

It did not happen overnight

In the last decade, CBD went from a virtually unknown compound in marijuana to a hot ingredient in beauty products, to a health-food fad.

On the shelves of my local natural-foods store.

The fine print of glossy advertisements in yoga-studio locker rooms. :)

At the bank when a teller handed me a flyer about a new ATM.

That offered CBD as an alternative to cash withdrawal. :)

I discovered CBD only about two years ago, when a wellness expert recommended I try it for my anxiety.

I had never heard of it, so I wrote CBD on my list of strange and probably sketchy internet-order wellness items.

I was pleasantly surprised by the delivery. It was just a package, with no branding or fuss.

Inside were small glass bottles of liquid.

I started small, first taking drops under my tongue to test the waters.

In short order

I learned that a few drops of CBD under my tongue could actually work as well as my prescription medication for my social anxiety

And without the scary side effects.

My doctor was astonished and wanted to know more.

I noticed CBD was showing up in the beauty aisle and in my local health-food store.

I wasn’t exactly sure what it was, but everyone from my wife to my mother swore that CBD oil—and other hemp products—were the cure for whatever ailed them.

“It’s fantastic stuff,” said one friend who’d become a convert after using CBD to treat her Lyme disease. “I recommend you try it.

The scope of these products and how they are marketed is vast.

And the stories are endless.

I get it. I’ve been there. And we live to tell our tales.

I experienced the frustration of trying to navigate the CBD landscape firsthand with my wife, who suffers from chronic pain and anxiety.

I had only heard about it in passing, but when she told me one day that she was using CBD and that it was making a difference.

I figured I’d do my due diligence and start doing research.

Once I was used to the taste and effects, I started putting the drops in my coffee.

That way, I never had to be without it. I soon added to my habit by ordering CBD products from a range of companies.

I tried topical creams and oils, as well as full-spectrum tinctures.

My only experience

With CBD up until this point was with wellness companies that had gone through vetting (full disclosure: some are affiliates of mine).

The result was high-quality products that were convenient to buy.

No sketchy brands or sketchier entrepreneurs. No feeling like I had stumbled into a shady business.

I had been stewing about this issue for a few months.

CBD, hemp, and cannabis products are now frequently being pushed onto consumers.

With little to no information about what’s actually in the bottle.

I have always been curious about cannabis but had never tried it.

The problem is that information about CBD oils. And products. Is hard to find.

1. Are there any that are reputable?
2. Are they safe?
3. Will I get the results I want?
4. But what if you’re buying something for medical purposes?

It’s easy to click on an Amazon link and buy whatever happens to be listed as the most popular result.

The stakes are higher than just feeling healthy or better rested or even staying awake during the workday.

Help treat cancer, and help heal chronic pain, and give you a glowing complexion and shiny hair.

CBD has been studied for its effects on a plethora of diseases but there hasn’t been a ton of work done yet on the plant itself.

There is some promising research — mostly in rats — that suggests it could have long-term benefits for a variety of ailments.

But we don’t know yet if those will translate to humans.

(Because it’s not as simple as just taking some CBD and waiting for the magic to happen.)

What we do know about CBD is that unlike the THC found in marijuana, which is a psychoactive drug, it doesn’t get you high.

However

Within the last year or so, I’ve really started to wonder if it is something I should be considering long term as a wellness product (nothing specific, just in general).

I reached out to some friends and local experts to get there thoughts.

There is so much information about this product out there, that it is hard to get a really good picture of what it is.

And, as I mentioned earlier, I had a very positive experience with my CBD purchase.

But I wanted to try some more of the products that were advertised on my Instagram feed and the internet marketplaces.
