Have You Tried Voice Typing? - Google Doc's Setup

What is voice typing?

Well, if you're use to talking more than writing, you may want to consider using voice typing. Voice typing is when you use your mic to record yourself and the system recognizes the words you speak and types it for you.

Why you may want to use voice typing?

So far I've been using Google Doc's system to record for most of my articles.

Now of course there are going to be errors for you to go back and edit but, having to speak instead of writing makes the process of making the article so much faster for me. I also notice that many of us tend to get writers block due to being a perfectionist. A great way to break this is to just speak your mind. Another reason why voice typing may be useful is that many blog articles tend to seek for a personality. When we're speaking naturally, we tend to have a clearer vision of where we are going with the topic.

So How Do You Start Voice Typing?

Well there are a couple of things you need first:

- A google account

- A working mic

- Your beautiful voice

Lets get started:

Step 1) Sign in to google or sign up if you don't have one.

Step 2) go to https://docs.google.com or you can search "Google Docs" and click on the first or second link.

Step 3) Once you are all signed in, it should take you to a page where you can choose a template. Now you can choose many templates to your liking in the future but, for now just go with the blank page.

Step 4) Great! Now you have a page ready to go and be spoken to.

To do this you will need to enable voice typing.

So at the top right, in the menu section, you're going to click on "Tools" and then It should open a menu and you will find "Voice Typing..." via Image below.

Step 5) You will now get an box with an image of a mic. If you click on that mic it will now access your mic and whatever you speak will be typed out on the document. However you might come into an issue where your browser hasn't enabled use of your mic, so a pop up will appear asking permission. Just say allow and you're free to use the feature.

Afterwards you can just copy and paste to your wordpress or WA article writing and edit from there.



And there you have it! Now go kill it and express your thoughts better!

Thanks, yes it definitely kills a lot of time for me and helps me express my thoughts more clearer.

It can definitely help in the productivity stakes and some of us are better talkers than writers. Definitely helps if we like the sound of our own voices.
