Hello everyone. I put together this blog for my own use. After 5 month here at Wealthy Affiliate, I needed to recalibrate. Having been hit with so much information, it's easy to get lost, with all the information available.

So, this is my Pause, to evaluate where I am and whether I'm still on the course that I set out. Guess what, I'm not. Too much new information, too many new business opportunity that I had not been aware of. So, see this as me, stopping to see where I am and whether I stay on the course I've set or chart a new course.

So, this is my journey to finding out.

Online marketing:

  • isn'tmagic;
  • it's not luck; nor
  • is it “post and pray”

It’s a system.

And once you understand the system…

So here are the 12 things you actually need, broken down in a way that won’t make your brain overheat 😄


🧭 PART 1: The Foundation (Don’t Skip This… Seriously)

Most beginners skip this part.

Then wonder why nothing works.

Here's what you need:


1. Clear Goals (Know Exactly What You’re Doing)

If your goal is:

👉 “make money online”

Then, that’s not a goal.

That’s a wish.


A Better Example:

  • earn $100/month in 3 months; or
  • get 50 visitors per day; or
  • create 10 blog posts.

👉 These are specific wins.


2. Know Your Audience (Who Are You Talking To?)

You’re not writing for “everyone.”

Because “everyone” = no one.


Ask yourself:

  • who needs my help? or
  • what problems do they have? or
  • what are they searching for?

3. Know Your Competition (Yes, You Have Some)

Good news:

Bad news:

👉 you need to stand out to be noticed.

For a beginner, the best time to use Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising is when you need immediate visibility that organic methods like SEO cannot provide quickly. 8. Email Marketing (Your Direct Line)

Email marketing is a form of digital direct marketing that uses email messages to promote a company's products or services, share updates, and build relationships with customers. It involves reaching out to a list of subscribers who have explicitly "opted in" (given permission) to receive communications from your brand.
