No Rhyme or Reason!
Morning all (or evening, depending on where you are :))
Just a quick update before I head off to work. It's 5:50 am but just had to post this.
On Tuesday evening I quickly added a second site to my portfolio - www.whattoknit.org - (love that word, makes me feel very professional lol). I configured the front page to say a new site is coming and it was so quick I haven't cleared the footer sample text but I did clear the 2 side bars (am finding the template a l ittle tricky) and added a quick Amazon and Ebay banner showing the goods to go with my niche.
In the about me page there's no photo and just a quick para, there's no privacy page and the header photo is a bit dodgy!
Completed that about 10pm (about 2 hours work).
Got an email on Weds morning saying Congrats the site is indexed in Google!!!!!
How did that happen? I have absolutely no idea but it just goes to show that dabbling in more than one niche (if you have the time) is definitely worth a try. I know a few of our senior colleagues have test sites and that's what prompted me to try something else to see what it looks like.
Anyway, am going to be late now, but really wanted to share this with you, especially if you are unsure about your niche - maybe try a couple of different ones and see what you feel more comfortable writing about.
