What Are You Willing To Give Up to Succeed in Your Goals?
What are you willing to give up to succeed in your goals? I have succeeded in completing Course 2 here at WA, but here is the backstory as to how I got here.
In July of 2013, I made a monumental decision - or so it seemed at the time. I decided I wanted more from life than just going to work, coming home, watching a bit of TV, off to sleep, then rinse and repeat.
So, what did I do?
I unplugged the television set!!!
Yep, I decided that I would try giving up TV for one month, and if I survived, I would reevaluate my life, and my goals, and make some truly serious decisions.
The first day, - I thought, jeepers, I'm going to miss my favourite show tonight! What will happen if I miss that favourite show?
(Insert sound of crickets chirping here, in an otherwise silent abyss.)
Because guess what - nothing happened. I missed my favourite show, and the earth did not swallow me up.
It was a turning point in my life; a seminal moment when I realized how much time I had wasted, just sitting in front of the TV, doing nothing, thinking of nothing, and most importantly, achieving nothing.
So, here I am, in March of 2015, and the TV is sitting up in the loft, unplugged since July 2013, and the best news of all is that I have found Wealthy Affiliates, have just completed Course 2, and am spending that TV time working toward my goal of achieving residual income in the next 2 years to see me through the rest of my life, in style and abundance.

Pamela Hi! I sure like the way you're getting extra precious time to work WA. I too, have NO Television, just my smartphone, & now my laptop!! Yea! I plan to dedicate 6 solid 8 hour days per week to my
website & of course the affiliate boot camp, & all the resources WA has to offer. Sunday will be set aside for making my crock pot meals, cleaning my house & whatever other chores I need to do. I also am going to be able to retire in style & comfort. (If I retire! )WA will be a Lifestyle changer for me!! I will Be working WA Full-time !! Tomorrow I will become a Premium Member!!!! Whooooo-Wee!!!
Congratulations on going Premium. Your enthusiasm and drive will see you through to success. I look forward to following your progress!
Way too much time is spent in front of TVs. More people should turn them off and the world would be a better place.
I think there are very few that would do that. I can't believe the programs that are on but more importantly, I can't believe people actually WATCH them.
I surely agree with you on that. Interestingly, I have met quite a few people who don't have tv. More and more, folks around here are tuning out. Especially young parents. They would rather spend time with family and friends, going for a nature walk, exploring a new hobby together, teaching young children about life by doing it. Many are saying "I don't have a TV; I have a life". I encourage everyone to try it for a week. Maybe it's something in our air, or our water here on the Island.
I wish that would happen here. Many of the parents use TV as their babysitter. So sad. Can you send us some of your air and water? LOL.
It is a bit different taking that step. Every once in a while you will feel like you are suppose to be doing something and you are not sure what it is. Best of Luck to you always.
Yes that does happen. So, I ask myself, If I knew what it is I'm supposed to be doing - what would it be? Then, I ensure that anything in the way of doing it, - I delete it. Life's "delete key" - the power of positive attraction.
So true Pamela. Here's a few quotes that I will keep handy when working WA.
EVERY NEW DAY IS ANOTHER CHANCE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
IF I LIVE EVERY DAY THE SAME WAY I DID TODAY, WHAT KIND OF FUTURE WOULD THAT CREATE?

To everyone - thank you so much for the thread of conversation. So, what is it that you decided to give up, in order to make room in your life for working at your website? Chocolate? Tim Horton's? Golf? Spending Sunday afternoons at the in-laws?
Pamela Hello again! I commented to your post earlier about giving up TV. I haven't watched a program on TV since November 2012 .I will give up the single drink packs from Dollar General & all snacks - including Chocolate!. There isn't anything else that I can think of offhand, other than putting off getting a few extra things that I've run out of at the grocery store until May. Maybe you could suggest some other things that I could give up. Have a Wonderful Weekend Pamela!
