My website was hacked
I can't believe it. I thought this sort of thing only happens to established websites. My website is definitely NOT what I would define as "established" at all!
I'm posting a screen shot of the code used by the hacker, which I saw in the Content area of my post's revision history.

Good thing there is the revision history I could fall back on. But I left it untouched so that SiteSupport could have a look.
They confirmed it was a hacking attempt.
I googled for this code and found it on someone else's website! http://diaryofaperthgirl.com.au/halva-meringue-cak...

This is the code I copied and pasted directly from my post's revision history: [insert_php] print md5('tujjfdfjkh'); [/insert_php]
print md5('tujjfdfjkh');
Thank goodness...
- SiteSupport was able to come to my aid swiftly (as usual)
- The damage done to my site was minimal -- only one post's content was changed to "Hello World", as far as I can tell
- I have an auto-tweet plugin, so I was informed of this happening via a tweet that was generated from this post amendment!
I have since deleted the "admin" user role, since I know that this the one of the first entry points for hackers.
Anyone with any similar experience? Would love to hear feedback from anyone for sure! Thanks for reading...

Thankfully SiteSupport was able to come to your aid. Hope that everything goes well from then on
Sorry to hear you got hacked Im glad it was only minimal damage. I had a site completely taken down once years ago by a terrorist group. Horrible experience. Im glad hve such a great support team here at WA
Oh my, that sounds terrible! Your site must have controversial content then?
Yes, I'm glad for the great support we have here on WA.
Let's hope this is a playacting incident Pam and doesn't recur! Am happy site support was able to help. Their performance is awesome!
Thanks Mike. Yes, I feel glad and comforted with the knowledge that I can always fall back on SiteSupport for anything site-related!
Hi izzat, it's not so much that there should only be one user. But rather, create another admin role and call it something else. I think in Kyle's trainings, he mentioned to name it with your name or the author's name.
Because "admin" will be what hackers try, since people may simply use the "admin" role. So it becomes a weakness in one's site security, if you get what I mean...
Thanks Goson. I'm not discouraged, but I was definitely shocked! Thankfully, it was resolved via SiteSupport's help.
Oh my! I'm so sorry to hear that! What happened with your site? What did the hackers do?
I hope you have contacted SiteSuport for help?
Thanks, I will post tomorrow because today can' t post 2 blogs. I just started, I just need help to fix it. That should BE Ok.
Hello Pam,
Sorry to hear that someone hacked your website.
At least you know how to deal with this situation luckily. I would have panic and didn't really know what to do yet.
Thank you for this post and I learnt about the option of deleting the "admin" user role and probably creating another personal role.
Thanks Paul, my first reaction to anything related to my website is to contact SiteSupport.
Their response time is really quick. So I would advise anyone who has trouble with their website, be it problems with plugins, SSL, anything at all... contact SiteSupport and get their advice and help!
I hope you will never encounter what I just did!
Yeah! I really wonder the intention of these hackers. In Singlish, I would term these people as "bo liao", because they didn't exactly cause harm to my site, but as if they want to show off that they can hack into my site and change my post's content! Just like in that other blogger's website http://diaryofaperthgirl.com.au/halva-meringue-cake-gf/

Thanks for the reminder. I need to change the "admin" user now.
Sure, glad this post could help, Thomas.
And yes, the "admin" user is one of the weakest point of security of any website, and where hackers will attempt first. I remember this was what Kyle taught in one of his earlier trainings.
I didn't delete the "admin" user before, because I was complacent and also didn't think anything would *happen* to my site! But I guess one can never be too careful.
