So Many Ideas

Hello,

There are so many things to write about now that I blog on a regular basis. There are so many topics to touch on that can lead to a brief paragraph to a short story to a novel. To narrow it down to one is now the problem for me. I spoke about how the internet has so many benefits in another blog of mine, and I only touched on a tiny little part of it. If you would please, continue with me, while I start writing more on this subject. I just think that there is so much people that are not aware of what can be done, or seen, or happen on the internet. One thing I have learned, is that when you blog, all the words that are in your blog, become opportunities to get picked up when someone is searching for something that has your word in it and lead them to your website. At least, that is what I am under the impression of, being an entrepreneur. If anyone reads this and it is not correct, I really wish they would let me know if this is true or not. I was told, in order to get a successful and prosperous business up and running and to get your name out there, you had to blog, blog, blog until you had enough content to draw your traffic to your website. If this is also true, it would be an awesome thing if someone could fill me in on if this is really the true answer and no other way to do this. Anyway just wondering.

So, like I had said in a previous blog, there are many uses of the internet that are beneficial to people. I touched on one of them before and that was it can be used to pay bills. That not only saves you gas, because you don’t have to drive to pay the bill. You save on stamps and the cost of writing checks because you don’t have to write on the paper that costs you plus you don’t have to mail that check and also not worry if it gets to the destination. And it also saves you a lot of time because you don’t have to leave your house, write that check, put it in an envelope, stamp it, mail it, or worry about it getting there which is all time related. You just simply go to your account, punch in a few things, click on that process button, and then finish by waiting a few seconds for the confirmation of payment. Done! That is where the average person who does not use the internet can take 5x longer to accomplish paying a bill when they could have used the internet and got it done in 5 to 10 minutes from start to finish. And this of course, is all in my opinion.

Another very beneficial aspect of the internet is, it allows you to explore and learn about things at a rate that is done in so very little time and much less time than if you had a book or lent one from the library on the subject you wanted to know about. And how much time it would save you from reading it from cover to cover, leading you to think that you have just learned all there was on that subject. The internet has made so many process faster and so many jobs faster that it is eliminating the need for us to a lot of things we used to do manually along with the thought process to them. Just the “brain box” of these holders of information alone, which are used to give us access to the internet, have spoiled us. I find that more and more we tend to rely on the saved information that is stored in these “brain boxes”, is making us too dependent on them. If there should ever be a situation that arises that needs us to remember a phone number or a process to do something it could really be a problem or even a fatal mistake. It kind of makes us stupid in so many words, of course, this is in my opinion. I used to be able to tell anyone any phone number they asked for by memory. But now with the ever so popular cell phone, all you do is plug it in and abracadabra, no memory needed on your behalf, until something happens to that cell phone and all of a sudden, you not only cant remember a phone number but there is nothing that cell phone can tell you and you have to struggle to find that number again somewhere else or from someone else that you better hope you have their number somewhere you can find it.

Yes, there are a lot of benefits about the internet, but like I said also in another blog, there are many bad things too. I know from my own experiences that when your children are growing up and have access to the internet, you as a parent, better keep a close eye and control over what they see. It is very easy for a young one to unknowingly stumble upon some things that definitely dont need to be seen or learned at your child’s age. I learned the hard way and it was a year or two too late. So that is why I am mentioning it now so that anyone who has a young child that is starting to venture to the computer and has access to the world wide web or even “YouTube”, should be very attentive and make sure the controls are in place, because that is where it started for my son at an early age. I wish I would have known this back then. Of course, the internet can not only tarnish the thoughts of your innocent child but it can damage an adult relationship by having access to things that could be detrimental to a life. Just be aware that with all things, there is a good side and a bad side. Be smart about it and not so curious. Remember the oldie but goody saying, curiosity killed the cat.

Ok, it is time for me to go now. I will be back again some time.

Thank you for reading.

Keeping faith,

Dianna
