An week of high emotion!

I would like to have a quiet life occasionally!

This week my youngest (11) is off to school camp. Lots of kids do this, but he has never been away from home, he is quite an anxious little man and life for him, at times, can be very challenging. So this morning he was not happy.

However, my wife and I took him to school to catch the bus with his class mates and even though he was visibly upset, he got on the bus and off they went. I felt sick and still do to be completely honest. However, I know that this will be so good for him and give him a sense of self-belief and independence that will help him flourish.

And for my eldest? 15 years old (16 in March) and on Thursday he is testing for a drive in the 2019 Euro NASCAR series. An unbelievable opportunity for him and more stress for the parents. However, he has a dream and he is determined to achieve it.

So why the blog?

Well I really wanted to get this all off my chest to be honest. But also, both of my children are facing real challenges this week but they are facing them head on. But if they believe in themselves and trust that they have the ability to be successful, then the outcomes, for both of them in their own way, could be life changing.

Inspiration can come from lots of different places, but this week they are mine.

Thank you for sharing.
Hope your little boy is having a great time at the camp!
And for the 15yr old, very much hope he got the result he was hoping for.
I had the same feeling of feeling ill when I left my 3yr old twins in the kindergarten.
They love being there. It's a lovely place with some amazing staff that look after them, and yet, I still feel horrible every time I leave them...
I guess that is just a part of being a parent.
We have to do what is best for them.
And, also, find inspiration in their enthusiasm and bravery to learn and do new things every day.
Best,
Alenka

Thanks for your kind words Alenka.
They don't tell you this stuff when you become a parent - probably just as well.
Here is to a good week for all of us.
Paul
