009 - Not Just Setting Goal, Commit.
I was reading the weekly post by Charles Ngo yesterday.
He is sharing a story of how he persist in his journey to lose weight while his friends quit half way.
The reason?
Here is his explanation:
"Why am I still going? I don't set goals...I make commitments.
What does a commitment mean when it comes to losing weight?
* I invested in a personal trainer
* I invested in a daily meal delivery plan that hits my macros / calories.
* I make sure I'm in bed by 10pm every night
Has it been tough? Yes.
I'm craving Belgian waffles, pasta, steak, etc. as we speak. I HATE doing cardio. When I'm going to the gym...in the back of my head I'm thinking I should be working on my campaigns.
But I don't let the Sirens tempt me. I made a commitment to myself."
Another analogy he shared is:
What do people do at weddings? They make commitments to each other.
Could you imagine someone saying, "I am making it a goal to stay faithful to you"
Not Just Setting Goal, Commit.
Is this resonate at your end?

Ha! You really hit the nail on the head with the wedding comparisson! Thanks for sharing. This really motivated me to make some changes in my perspective!
Thanks for stopping by my blog, Kara. You should blog more about how to juggle between works and 3 kids. I am struggling just to handle one. :)
