Optimistic
On 19th June - Graduation Day - Released from Physical Therapy.
On the 24th ,- I have a follow-up appointment with my Orthopedic Surgeon.
I’m optimistic that the soreness I still have from the last knee surgery is nothing problematic. Due to an issue, whatever it is, I can’t sit in a chair very long or get comfortable in bed so that I can get a full night’s sleep.
On 20th - Delivering three beer styles I’ve entered in Indiana Brewers Cup.
I’m optimistic that all three entries will win a medal.
- Russian Imperial Stout (3rd last year with same batch),
- Scottish 70/ This is a session beer of less than 4% alcohol as entered in the Spice category and is named a Scotsman’s Session with Apple pie. For some reason my yeast created an apple ester (not desired), so I added some nutmeg and cinnamon to create the Apple pie profile.
- Dry Stout – about a 6% alcohol beer.
On the 21st - I will brew a Russian Imperial Stout. This beer will have 9-10% alcohol.
Hopefully, this beer has the flavor profile I want after it is bottled for a couple months. If it does, then into the walk-in cooler to let it age for 2-3 years to allow the complexity of this style to melt together, plus develop a little Sherry flavor from oxidation.
I’m optimistic that I will still be around to enjoy it and that it will melt together as needed to win medals after two years.

You totally amaze me how you handle life.Nothing seems to be a problem to you and imagine entering three beers to a contest, where do you get the time to make these.I think you are a remarkable man for your age,age is definitely not a factor to you my friend.
Good luck with your beer! I make my own wine and thought about beer, not got round to it yet though. :)
Wow, you really know your beer! I hope your knees continue to heal and I hope you win a medal or two or three! :)
That's wonderful!! Good luck!
