I started a post and before finishing it I hit publish, went back and finished the post but it won't add the new content, just shows where I was when I first started. Put a lot

Okay I did a copy and paste to the dashboard and it seemed to work. Thank you.

Woohoo! Yay, I glad you still had your content there - I wasn't sure. Have a good night!

I've actually lost a bit with SiteContent too, especially when my internet is playing up. I do still like to use it, but manually save often, making sure it's actually saved.
Sometimes, I do a big copy and paste too and save it in Word, just in case.

if I delete the post in the dashboard will it let me republish the one that is in site content now?

oh you still have your new text? :)

I would just copy and paste it directly in, if I was you. and make a copy of whats in Site Content somewhere else too - in Word, or Google Docs

Just checked again, I think there used to be a way to do that, but I can't see how you can republish from SiteC right now.

I copied it to my notepad so I have it if I need to redo it. thank you.

Did you go back and add it in Site Content?

You should check in your wordpress dashboard too, it's likely published the half blog post - you should quickly change it to draft in there.

Let me see...

changed it to draft in the dashboard didn't see a change yet. at a loss.

yes I finished the post in site content, the green tab says published, edit here.

it is almost 2600 words, would hate to have to redo it.

I just tried it myself, with a published post, and there was nowhere to save it...

I'm guessing you didn't realise there was no save button :(

Once it's published through Site Content, you do have to do any remaining updates in WP.

I'm hoping you can find a hack to restore what was lost in Site Content...

It is late here and I have an early morning, I will look into it more tomorrow after work. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Good luck! And don't worry, if you have to rewrite it, it will be even better!

I'm not tech savvy so I waited to see if someone else would answer...
