First Lady is an unofficial title used for the wife or hostess of a non-monarchical head of state or chief executive. Certainly the subject of who will be the next First Lady of the the United States has filled the news channels lately, and the dialog has been very controversial. But that is not where this post is going. Instead I'd like to introduce the community to Wealthy Affiliates First Ladies. I'm talking about the better halves of our young Co-founders of Wealthy Affiliate, Kyle and Cars
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a big deal on the internet. Quoting Kyle ... "As the Internet moves closer to an “encrypted” world and Google now is starting to rank sites better that have SSL (ie, https: vs http:), this is something that you are going to need. Most companies charge $20-50 per site, per year for an SSL certificate whereas these are going to be completely free here at WA." Our Wealthy Affiliate platform has been SSL for some time now, but our member websites hosted her

I'm a retired engineer and spent my career in high tech manufacturing. So I've always considered myself a technical person. But I guess I'm old school technology. I don't remember the terms geek or nerd being used when I was completing my bachelors degree in engineering, but I think my engineering classmates and I where geeks and nerds. The classic sign of our geekiness was carrying our K&E slide rules every where we went. Many reading this blog will not even know what a slide rule is ... o

No, this is not going to be training on HTML jump links. If you're unfamiliar with the site jump linking process it can be a little confusing. HTML, of course, is the mark up language working in the background of a web site. In many respects it's like a foreign language for a site building newbie ... that would be me. What I really want to do is recognize a member for her incredible support helping me complete a site building action that was above my pay grade to execute properly. Let me explai
I hope every one has had a chance to see what Kyle & Carson have done to the Wealthy Affiliate website (, as described in Kyle's recent blog ( I encourage you to take the time to go through Kyle's blog if you have not yet done so. Have a look at the new It's world class. I've always been so impressed with the Kyle & Carson story ... two young guys who first met while completing
Have you seen the new form that describes Wealthy Affiliate's features and benefits? It compares the Starter and Premium Memberships like the old table you can find by clicking the airplane 300 tab at the top. It's been popping up for me intermittently as a WA Log in screen. Here's the table you currently get when you click Banners under the airplane 300 tab: Compare that with the new table I get as described above, and you quickly see that it is much improved: Right away you can see that we ar

We all know that quality content is king in our SEO efforts, but what about the best length for our posts? I started out targeting my posts for around 500 to 800 words. Then I raised it to around 1,000 words when I started to see comments that this was a better target word count. Google liked it ... leading to better SERPs. I found that what seemed more natural for some of my posts was closer to 1,200 words. I thought 1,000 to 1,200 words ... I should still be ok. Lately I'm seeing suggestions
Well ... I finally opened my Google Analytics account yesterday and also started to check my SERPs. The Pages of my website are pretty boring in Google's eyes, except for a Product Review that I recently published that is ranked 6th on Google page 3. I'm putting my Product Reviews in a Page Menu so I can have several product categories. I'm pretty sure a site map is needed to make it easier for Google to find these Product Reviews. Then I checked the SERPs for my Posts on my blog roll Home pag
This question is for those of you who are in Daveyrobot's (David Knight) network as I am. I have clicked on several WA emails lately announcing a new post from David. When I click on the post I get this message: NO RESULT FOUND. I clicked over to his profile where I expected to see his long list of Blog posts. He is very prolific. That gave me the same message ... NO RESULT FOUNDI sent David a PM several days ago advising him what I was seeing to make him aware of it ... No Response. The
Lately, other priorities have left me with much less time for my WA project. One of them has been finishing out an additional room for my daughter's pilates studio. Painting gives you a lot of time to be with your thoughts. There was music playing in the background. I heard this great song by the Beatles coming from another part of the studio and it occurred to me that my WA project is not unlike this great song. It's a long and winding road that leads me to the door of success
