Sometimes, you just say how do I do it? This is one of those times in my life. I need to be somewhere else helping others and not able to keep up my own world. I still say, one day at a time. This too shall pass. So how do we take time for ourselves?

When life gets overwhelming. Just stop and breathe, take a minute or two for yourself. This is what I suggest to my clients. I find it hard sometimes to do for myself. So this is my reminder. A note to self. Sit down and contemplate, what is your need to accomplish? What are the goals of the day?

I myself have to stop and reorganize and stay focused on what kind of day I am going to create. Some days go so quickly and things are not in our control. Do what you can, do not try to control things that are just going to make you more upset that you can't.

This past month has had some major effects on me do to ill elderly in laws. So taking time out to care for them it's taking a toll on my life lately. I am learning a lesson here. It isn't always easy to take that time out for yourself. In order to help them I need to make sure I am well enough myself.

I have decided that taking time a few minutes daily to do my meditation and be more organized to fit my WA program in best I can. I enjoy this so much. The community here is kind and caring too. So through some organizing and some support, I will be fine. Just as we all get through major crisis situations.

Organization is key to anything. So here I go, as Im sure all of you are doing at some point. Fitting it all in. Making it work. When you don't have the choice, you just get in and do it and create a organized daily list to keep you on track if you need too. Remember take time for yourself, as your helping others.

Great post I have been where you are today. I took care of my in-laws up until they both passed away. I didn't take care of myself. I took care of everyone else. Until recently I had a stroke so now I am learning to take care of me.

I am only working part-time in WA until I fully recover and then I will be back full-time. But I have learned an important lesson to take care of me first then everyone else.

That is a hard lesson to learn because I am not used to taking care of me first. But I have to be in good health to take care of everyone else. I have slowed down and taken it easy and doing alot of resting.

But anyway I am just rambling on and I apologize for that. But I do agree with you 100% you have a great post and I enjoyed reading it. And you made some very valid points too.

Mary

Thanks Mary,
I have been doing it and teaching others how but sometimes things happen like no one is there to feed your father in law and he’s 87, how could I leave him. So I am making bulk meals and leaving 2 or three at a time and checking in.
I am taking time for myself this weekend with friends and going to relax a little
God bless you Mary
Take some time and go slow
If you ever want to chat private I am here and could help with some holistic approaches.

Thank you I will take you up on it I really appreciate that so very much.

I am taking it slow and easy and resting and just working WA part-time for the time being and then I will be back when my recovery time is up.

I am interested in the holistic approaches maybe you can fill me on it that. I would really appreciate that.

Life pulls us in so many directions, it is hard to resist following every interest or task. I find myself many times trying to accomplish too many different things that nothing gets done. Then I have to write a list, prioritize and cross off when I have done something. I feel the accomplishment, and things get done, and I have a visual of what direction I have chosen to go in on a certain day.

Thanks for sharing, it is nice to know we aren't alone.
