Social Media. Use them even so you don´t like them!

Social Media is more and less all over. A place where an overwhelming number of people have bullied or tried to harm others to advance their own agendas.
A place where the three biggest MEDIA have decided, and exploited, to allow fake news and show no scruples in doing so.
A place where at least 3–4 dangerous individuals for the world came to power by help of them in mix other.
A place where the owner of one platform sees nothing wrong with greeting people with a fascist salute—yes, openly, with no pretense.

Is there nothing good there? Yes, there is. It's a place where people who struggle to express themselves have been able to do so fully, making life easier for them. People who have lost connections with friends have found them again. And there are other positives.

But what does this have to do with us here in WA?
Well, SEO isn’t dead; it’s still important. However, Google is dead—I’ve switched entirely to DuckDuckGo. That’s not necessarily bad, except for those working on websites. It means that the importance of social media, plus Pinterest, has become fundamental in this work.

I’ve taken a few very good courses outside WA—I can’t say where—that have completely changed things for me in this regard. Nevertheless, the situation is very serious for me, but I see things growing on these platforms, and hopefully, the outcome will align with my expectations. For example, I’ve built a solid group on Facebook, which has made a significant difference for one of my sites.
Next, I’ll focus on Bing. I never thought I’d move to Microsoft, but it’s actually a good platform for growth.

So, I wanted to remind everyone that the entire environment has changed! It’s crucial to adapt immediately and commit to the hard work it requires.

There are, however, a few points I’d like to recommend, either from personal experience or knowledge from people I trust who know exactly what they’re talking about:

  1. Don’t forget about people with visual impairments. Keep the font size no smaller than 16 pixels. Neon green and orange often blend into other elements for this group.
  2. Work consistently on social media—at least 5 days a week, always. If you find it hard to do a lot, that’s fine. But always do something to keep the platforms growing. The same goes for Pinterest.
The same image in different frames works up to five times—just make sure there are at least 8 days between postings.
  3. Different types of content suit different platforms. I know many disagree with me, but I stand firm on this. Identify at least two platforms that work for you and stick with them.
However, if being on a platform makes you uncomfortable for any reason, don’t be there! The same rule that applies to stock trading applies here—it’s better to avoid what doesn’t feel right. I’ll never join a certain platform (easy to guess which, given the earlier comments) for exactly this reason. However, it’s still a good idea to share links to your posts there—that’s a different matter entirely!

Best of luck!

Great advice Jóhann! I personally loathe social media but... it is a must in this day and age in order to grow our businesses!
