Just setting in brand new, or old if you look at it that way, news. The 4th volcano started in Iceland in December! Seven of the last 3 or 4 years.

For the first time, I saw it far away, from the start, and it is very powerful and incredibly fast—the most powerful of these four volcanos.

The last world record in speed was, if I remember correctly, what I saw in one scientist's article. If not, it was close. It ran 500 meters each hour. This one saw one kilometer each hour!

At the moment there is huge gas from it which is very dangerous to life depending on where you are. Luckily, there are no people where the life danger is, but it is over the biggest town in that area.
I stress that area because it is completely safe, and there is no danger at all to visiting Iceland because it is only in a small part of Iceland. But we have been in problems with the media and internet because a lot of crazy fake news that some people believe and that it horrible, no matter where you look at it!

It started at 20.23 this evening, 16th March, and I took photos of it 15 minutes later. I saw it 5 minutes after it started to drive quickly to the best place to take photos.
But this photo is taken from my balcony.


All people and animal have been saved. But what was special is that it was only 1 minute in warning!

It has destroyed the road which was built over the last volcano only 3 days after it, which is the first time in the world and very dangerous to do. But we need it because 30.000 (10% of the nation) were without water, both cold and hot, and we needed to help them. So they built the road in 23 hours and built a pipe for the hot water (we use hot water to have heat in the houses) in the next 20 hours. So, 3 or 4 days after it was gone, the water was back.

But like I said, it has now destroyed 1 of 3 road to the town closest and number 2 is in big danger. Then we have the worst road left.

It can damage a important power station plus the world famous Blue Lagoon at the moment. Defendse walls have been built around and we see what happens.

The worst case would be, which is possible if the lava runs into the sea because then its dangerous gas can cause problems. The heat in the lava now is 1100-1200 Celsius.
