My Odd Experience

Today I went out domain hunting. I always try to search and find the best bargain and value possible. When I do, I love to share them with others. In my quest, I ran across one for $.99 cents on Twitter. Wow! I'm thinking to myself, for $.99 cents why not? So I proceeded to the provider's website and on through checkout.

You're here for a domain, right?

Awesome, let’s get to it. Use the promo code LOVENAME for one $0.99

.com or .net domain name registration!*

Now For The Fun

Here is where the fun began to start. In the box provided for enter promo code, I entered the appropriate code from the ad. This is when the red lights started to show up. I made three attempts with the same error message being displayed. What do you do? You contact support!

Dancing With The Rep

I don't know about others here in the community, but I prefer verbal phone support over online chat any day of the week. I was happy to see that they provided this type of support. Onto the phone call with the tech support rep. She asked me about the ad and promo code. I answered both the questions and she responded by telling me she needed to put me on hold. When she returned She inform me that this ad was aimed at specific people. Stunned for a second I replied back, specific people? Do you mean special elite people? Is it because I have a decent social media following? I am just an average guy looking for the best deal around. Next, She inquired about where I found the ad at? I told her on my Twitter feed! and then proceeded to read the entire ad back to her. She became a little flustered and I was put on hold for a second time. When she returned, she explained there was a glitch in the system. Now retry the promo code and it should work. I followed her instructions and like magic it was successful.

Conclusion

This experience left me with an odd feeling and not a warm and fuzzy one. At that special cheap price, I can live with it for a year, not bad for a new website until it becomes profitable. But I will look for transfer deals before the expiration date. Have to question the future integrity of this company.

This is my very first WA post and I would appreciate any feedback you might have good or bad.

Thank You

Well, thankfully, it ended fine. I guess if it ended the other way, which is not good, then negativity about the company will spread.

Its all about customer care. This is just my thought.

I agree TJamil it is all about customer care.I am glad this experience ended well. Unfortunately, I am seeing more and more customer care that really doesn't care. IMO, we must hold a company accountable for what they advertise.
