Do you think captcha codes prevent people from wanting to comment?

Maybe a lot of people are lazy and don't feel like putting in a captcha code just to be able to send off a comment even though they may want to say something. Seems like without the captcha you will get more organic comments. I know spam may be a factor I already had over 10 comments of spam last month. But I think some of the comments would be legit, because sometimes its hard earning comment credits just because its very time consuming.
