Doubt... like hamsters on the wheel

The sun has been down for a while now. It's very still and quiet in the house, I should be sound asleep. I look over at my husband sleeping so peacefully without a care about his day, and I feel a little envious. Sleep doesn't come so easily for me tonight as my mind races with a thousand ideas. You know the ones, DOUBTS.

The kind of doubts that rise up when I'm overtired, sick, stressed, or just not in the best frame of mind. Today was a particularly busy one with chores, returning long overdue phone calls to friends and the demands that the WA lessons have placed on my time. I'm exhausted and tomorrow it's my turn to drive an hour in each direction to the Nursing Home where my elderly father patiently waits for me. It's a balancing act that I think I'm getting better at.

For the most part I'm confident that I can make a living from my online business, but every once in a long time that doubt rears its ugly head. It's been a long day and I'm exhausted. But these intrusive thoughts flood into my head like a dam that has been opened. Will I be able to make a living? Will the competition take business that otherwise might be mine? Will people want to buy what I'm selling? Why is it taking so long to progress? ... And the hamster continues to run around and around the wheel never really tiring. The wheel doesn't have a beginning nor end, just rhythmic continuous spinning. And sometimes I feel like I can't get off. It feels like a ride on the ferris wheel and I'm stuck at the top.

Light sleep has finally come, for a while. Then yet another great idea pops into my head and I get back on the cogs of that wheel for another spin. Only this time I get up out of bed and write it down, lest I forget in the morning. My finest ideas usually evolve during the quiet hours of the night. Then the wheel finally stops and I jump off for another day of inspiration and measurable progress.

Today's a new day and I will take some time to develop that great idea that penetrated my sleep last night. I'll see if it takes me anywhere closer to my goals.

So to the others that sometimes find themselves spinning on the hamster wheel feeling like they aren't really going anywhere, I say to you that the wheel eventually stops spinning and you'll have those AH HA! moments that make it all worthwhile. Remember also that the most successful business persons are always thinking about their business. They are continually WORKING ON their business and not just working IN IT.

I feel exactly like this right now! You read my mind.

Doubts trouble me too¡ I have seen Kyle's web site: "How to lose belly fat.... " very simple and direct, as well as useful . In the building of my first web site I am trying to keep that in mind and put my literacy for that porpuse.

Seriously you have a flair as an Author! I think your description and use of words are brilliant. I read that passage spellbound ! , consider some ebooks, you really do have an aptitude for writing and I mean that !! ,,, Mike

Thank so much and yes if you go to my site on the Home tab, submenu Kids Estories by M you'll see that I have given it some thought.

There is also a little teaser story that's cute and engaging.
