I just got accepted into the Amazon Affiliate Program!

I started my journey with WA just under two months ago (August 12th) and have been checking my email every day (actually, truth be told it was more like every hour while I was awake) anxiously awaiting for that email from the Amazon Affiliate Program to see if I got accepted or not.

Well, today (October 10th) I finally received that email from the Amazon Affiliate Program that I was accepted and I wanted to share the good news with my new WA family!!!

Some key points that I'd also like to share in case any of you are in the same position of waiting to hear from the Amazon Affiliate Program:

• First, Amazon specifies that you must have 3 qualified sales through the affiliate links on your website in order for them to even review your application. I had my third qualified sale on October 5th, so it has been a full 7 days since that third qualified sale until I got this email from the Amazon Affiliate Program.

• Second, to give you an idea of how much I have written...I have written 8 posts thus far, 6 of which have been indexed currently and 2 of which have been product reviews. (My two product reviews are the posts that have not been indexed yet). I know, it's not a lot of posts, but they've been quality posts and I am going at my own pace as I have a lot going on in my life (e.g. full time job, wife and 3 kids, an ebay store, other interests and hobbies, etc.). So I try not to put too much pressure on myself, rather I just keep chipping away when I can, appreciating the baby steps....because like Tony Robbins said "most people overestimate what they can accomplish in one year and underestimate what they can accomplish in ten years". That is something that I really live by!

• Third, I would like to be as transparent as possible here....I did reach out to a few of my friends who also share my hobby and I asked them that if they ever had to make any future purchases for supplies, if they could please link through my website. So, that is how I got my 3 qualified sales. Hey, I have no shame in saying that we all need to start somewhere and could all use help, especially when just starting out!

• Fourth, I continue the process of doing the trainings, to build out my content (i.e. new ideas for posts and product reviews), and continue to work on my website and all of the different aspects that go into building a successful website. Day by day...brick by brick...
  

Lastly, I just want to say that regardless of what the future holds, I am enjoying learning about affiliate marketing, how to build a website, and all of the other nuances of building an online business and this knowledge is precious to me. Some days are harder than others and some days are more discouraging that others, but overall, I am enjoying every step of this journey and so glad that I was lucky enough to find WA to stimulate this creative side in me and walk me through the process!
