My first week and a half!

WOW!

It’s been a whirlwind since joining wealthy affiliate 11 days ago. There is so much valuable information to take in. I must admit I was a little intimidated by all the information. Well, that was until I started the lessons. They are easy to follow, and I don’t feel like the lessons were going in circles and not giving me the information need like some other affiliate programs I’ve seen. We’ve all seen the promise the moon and stars, telling us how much money can be made fast. All you need to do is pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars. It didn’t stop there, there was one more level to phony up to in order to hear the next great secret. So, you can imagine my relief and level of excitement when I stumbled on to Wealthy Affiliate and realized there was a better way of doing affiliate marketing.

Throughout my life I have lived by one philosophy, do the work and success will follow. This has served me well. I was undersized growing up. When I was in 7th grade I was told I was not strong or good enough to play football on the team. I worked hard and success followed, I not only played, I became a starter. I eventually earned a scholarship to play college ball. I was in college when 9/11 happened and I like many others went to join the military, the Air Force to be exact, but was told at 218 pounds I was too heavy to enlist. Mind you I was a strong safety in college, so I was not overweight. I didn’t let it deter me, I did the work, trimmed down to 205 pounds. At that weight I was eligible to enlist. But I didn’t join the Air Force; no, I joined the Marine Corps. I tell you all of this as a testament that if someone does not shy away from putting in the work, they will be successful. Therefore, I was not hesitant to join Wealthy Affiliate. From my understanding, putting in the work with this program will lead to success. In my first week I have completed my level one online entrepreneur certification, I started building my first website and 2 of my sites have been indexed. I know I have a long way to go and I’m ready to put the work in to become successful at this.

Another thing that has been so amazing is the community. Everyone is so very helpful and positive. It’s refreshing to see this in a world where people look out for themselves. The encouragement the members give each other is like no other community I’ve seen. In other communities, most people are nice, but they aren’t as keen on wanting to see other members succeed. They are viewed as competition. I haven’t seen that here with all the great people in the Wealthy Affiliate community. I am ecstatic about being a part of this group and learning all I can from everyone, and to help others when I can.

I want to thank everyone for their kind words of encouragement. I look forward to this journey and getting to know as many people as I can.
