You can also go to the WP Theme site directly and view them there. The themes are the same as going through your dashboard.

Pages are for more permanent static information. Posts associated with blogs are for transient information.

I actually downloaded the Ultimate Social Media PLUS plugin. You can configure the plugin in the settings and add your accounts. Then under customize, you can add it to a widget like the sidebar
