A full analysis of naturallyloseit
Hey Guys,
This post is mainly for the benefit of one member here. It is a full analysis of his website, this is similar to what I do for clients who pay a lot of money for this kind of thing. It's not the exact same since I will not use the same expensive tools for work, but it is close enough. The idea of this analysis is that any of you can do this as well.
First Glance:
The first thing I notice about the website is that it is rather plain looking. Nothing too flashy but nothing that really says professional. I would not recommend any changes to the look of the website since things seem to run together fairly smoothly.
Authority:
I know this is controverial here at WA but I'm going to give my two cents. The domain authority according to moz (you can download the toolbar for free) is 16. Honestly, 16 is almost nothing. Please understand domain authority is created by Moz and not by Google, but it does give me an idea as to the amount of backlinks the site has.
I would recommend reaching out to sites in the same space and building some links back to your site, or posting articles on streetarticles and places such as buzzfeed. You'll gain some link juice rather quickly.
Keywords:
According to Ahrefs position tracker this site ranks for 1.1k keywords. That's a lot! However, it is not on the first page for any of these keywords. That's why the site is getting no traffic. Ahrefs is expensive, so I instead put it into a similar tool that's free. I don't know if I am allowed to link to sites, but this thing is an awesome tool. It's called K-Meta and it's a free keyword tool.
Using this tool you can find some good keywords right away. For instance "how to lose weight in your face". This keyword gets a few searches in Google and converts well. Right now the site is on the second page of google at http://naturallyloseit.org/how-to-lose-weight-in-y...
So what should you do? First compare word count to the top sites in that keyword, how do you compare? Change anything if necessary. Then build links to the page and promote it socially until you start to rank, build about 2-4 links per week and let me know how things go.
Site Architecture:
This is a big one with the website. The site needs to have seperate categories. For instance "Fitness" "weight loss" "dieting" "Calorie counting" then you can have hub pages for each of these categories.
Than your architecture would go like this: examplesite.org/fitness/fitnessarticle
Then you build links to and promote your hub page and it promotes all of the other pages as well! It works super well.
Added Bonus:
You know that keyword tool I posted earlier? Take your top competitors for your favorite keywords and throw them in there. Then steal their best keywords. It's one of my secrets for fast keyword research for clients and it works wonders.
Let me know what you think! Any other questions and just ask! You are ranking for some great keywords and honestly you could be rolling in traffic in a matter of a month or two.

I had to like this. There is a few things here that spoke to me about my website. I must admit back links is a big one but I have been having a bit of trouble finding forums and other sites that suit me and my website

Hi Nils, thank you for providing a detailed and professional analysis. I gained some great ideas and insights from this post. I am going to check out K-Meta! It is interesting that you did not have any recommendations regarding the look and feel of the site. On the other hand, a sound Site Architecture is absolutely essential.
I don't worry as much about the look and feel of sites when i'm analyzing them. I find that traffic is always the most important thing at first, or is at least something that most people struggle with.
I am not a designer, so I don't pretend to be good at that stuff.
