Why "Money" is Always an Excuse

Are you strapped for cash, struggling to get by to pay the bills.

Your business isn’t generating the leads, the income and the numbers to help you create more time and money freedom.

You're frequently stuck in techie and communication hell, not sure about the next step. And you have no idea how to solve the gazillion pieces of the business puzzle.

You’re hurting, hiding, failing.

And that feels painful.

As a result...

  • You question whether you’re good enough.
  • You burst into tears at the worst possible times.
  • You always expect the worst and usually get just that.
  • You’re an emotional mess and you feel helpless.

You may depend on your partner to finance you and your arguments about money are becoming more frequent.

It’s not a good place to be, for sure.

If that’s you friend, I FEEL your pain.

  • I know what it feels like to have no money in the bank and bills piling up.
  • I felt the shame that burnt bright red on my cheeks because I failed myself.
  • I dealt with the self-criticism, the lack of self-esteem and the emotional rollercoaster.
  • I’ve been where you are and I know without a doubt that you can get past this.

How? By choosing to work on your blockages.

If funds are tight, try to work on the money blockages that stop you from attracting money.

If clients evade you, find the disconnect in your energy that is repelling them away from you.

(Psst… this stuff may be freaking you out right now, but I can personally attest to the fact that energy matters in marketing.)

If you’re not attracting ideal clients, your message isn’t clear. If you need help with that, please reach out to me.

If you don’t have the money to invest in a coach, mentor or team member brainstorm ways to find the money… because whenever we want something REAL BAD, we will find the money!

Money is just an excuse.

If you repeatedly make money excuses you need to look at your internal dialogue.

  • How do you speak about money?
  • Do you treat money with respect?
  • Do you phrase your sentences in negatives or positives?

If it’s negatives… if you tend to communicate from a point of lacking, you can reframe the problem and ask yourself, “Where can I find an extra $XXXX to invest in the ______ (insert the thing you want to buy)? What can I do, with the time skills and resources I have to earn those extra funds? Who could I approach to pimp out my skills, without being icky about it?”

I know from personal experience that when we’re stuck in the victim loop we tend to look at what we don’t have vs. what we already have at our disposal.

We let negativity play in a loop, like a bad movie in your head vs. feeling grateful for what we already have!

  • Don’t have money and feel bad? Feel grateful for being healthy instead!
  • Don’t have the list size you want? Feel grateful for the amazing souls that are subscribed to your list already!
  • Don’t like your job? Feel grateful to have a job that pays the bills and use that positive mojo as a driver to replace your job with something that fulfills you instead.

We need to consciously reframe the negative thoughts and find the lessons that show us the positives, which essentially is a great exercise in hope.

You can give yourself permission to have faith in you, even if you’re struggling right now.

Even if it’s a terrible cliché, it’s true that Rome wasn’t built in a day! Our dream lives won’t appear out of thin air, they need to be built—with our sweat, love, compassion, drive, dreams and labour.

Working with our blockages and money blocks is an ongoing dedication, like weeding the garden you and I have to weed our minds every single day. If we don't, the weeds of self-doubt, fear, confusion and hopelessness will take root and take us off track.

I don't want that for you. Do you?

I totally agree customers want positivity or they won't connect.

Exactly. Although there's a lot of fear mongering out there that is sucking readers into the doom & gloom and that works too. But it's the old style of marketing.

Be well,

Nika

Hey Nika I totally agree with you. Framing a positive mindset for yourself is the first step you can take to changing your circumstances. By being positive and see opportunities obstacles lower and we are able to move on. So here's to seeing self-doubt and confusion in the rear view.

Hugh

YES! I love the rear view mirror perspective Hugh. I feel the older I get, the better I can actually live with this and feel good about it.

Nika
