Top 3 Takeaways so Far
Hello,
I just wanted to drop in before calling it a night. I've been thinking alot today about what Wealthy Affiliate teaches in the most simplified terms
Monetize Yourself
Listen, there are certain things you're going to do anyway. Why not learn to earn while doing so? We learn about making money online and affiliate marketing, sure, but what is that?
Simplified - It's taking your knowledge, your skill, and/or just your day to day experiences and telling others about it. How often do you do that for free? Giving a friend or family advice?
Let your Passions Guide
Worried about what business you will start? Let your passions be the guide. Why? Because things you are passionate about:
You want to talk about!
You want to help people with!
Become a Producer - Not Just a Consumer
One of the side benefits that come from building a business is you become super focused, things you were mindlessly consuming fall to the way side.
Instead, things that add tremendous value to your life, you are finding ways to contribute and add value for.
I find I'm spending less money entertaining myself because I'm fully engaged in my business and in the community of like minded people here at Wealthy Affiliate and in the niche that I am building with.
That's All for Now Folks
Let me know in the comments, how would you simplify the lessons learned at Wealthy Affiliate?
Until Next Time,
Nicole

I would simply the lessons by having a mentor available to guide you thru the ltrainngs and address your questions as you go. I would make the lessons less cognitive and more interactional.
Accelerate people’s lesning curves and help them experience success much earlier in the building process. A coach would keep them focused on
what happens next and help them to put it in place quickly and correctly.
No more floundering in the dark wondering and guessing how to follow the training and apply it to your business when someone else has done it successfully and can guide you thru it easily and quickly. Speed up the learn curve and speed up the earn curve.
Mentor your way to Money with a monitized business from following in the steps of someone who is already there
These are my thoughts on how to simplify the process here especially for newbies who need that one on one touch and personal connection when they first get here
A confused mind says no and we lose a lot of people along the way who can’t follow the training get frustrated and leave whereas a personal connection from a mentor may have kept them here with early success in getting everything set up and running properly.
These are my thoughts Nicole on your question about how to make the trainings easier. The question really is how do we better make the training process such that it caters to people’s needs and emotions and technical challenges as they struggle to build a business here.
Thank you for mentioning the role of mentoring in success. I haven’t been here very long and I do get frustrated at times with the learning curve. I try to remember it’s part of the process and keep pushing.
But I can see a lot of people giving up. I know there are places to ask questions when stuck.
It would be interesting and valuable to see a mentoring model implemented here. I think right now it happens organically.
I suggested it to Kyle and Carson. Perhaps if a few more people floated the idea. Lots of newbies leave when when they get frustrated or lost and don’t have the patience to stick it out
All is not lost. I’ve quit on a lot of things. And made up in my mind this stuff doesn’t work or just isn’t for me. And yet, here I am now lol.
You are right. I will make a better effort to reach out to new members and encourage them to ask questions and follow members that have been here a long time. It will increase their chances of success.
Hope it helps someone.
Nicole we have the mentorship in placed here at WA community. All depends on the mentee ( STUDENT). All he has to do is ask and WA community will respond. Too bad that companies do not have the mentorship that we have here. Too competitive. Here when an individual reaches the goal; the community shines. Maybe the WA members tell the coporate what they should.
One thing that is not taught at WA and is a viable monetization method..selling of advertizing space in your newsletters...I jaw dropped a what some of the bigger and more famous sites charge...taking thousands of bucks...per week!
You are right. There are more ways to monetize than are taught here. I’m finding I’m more open the opportunities since being here. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Nicole!
I feel the whole WA community is our mentor.
We can ask questions any time day or night and receive an answer. We can type our questions in the help bar and have instant access to multiple training tips, either written or video.
I think the majority of people who give up do so because they are focused on the money aspect more than the education. We would have far fewer doctors in the world if they refused to undergo the rigorous training and educational requirements necessary before they were rewarded with a high income.
Thanks for a thought provoking post!

I agree I’ve been helped by the community tremendously. I think mentorship is a two way street.
For example when a mentoring program was started where I work it caught that both the mentor and mentee had responsibility for the outcome.
Guess what? More responsibility rests with the mentee! I was surprised by that at first. But it makes sense because the mentee is responsible for their success. They have to ask questions. They have to put into action what their mentor suggests.
You make a good point about patience and managing ones expectations.
What T48 mentioned in the corporate world can also be considered what happens when a new employee is hired and is paired with a sponsor during onboarding.
I never had that experience. I was typically thrown in the deep end and expected to know how to swim.
Onboarding with a mentor sounds like a dream come true!

I wish more places could do it and do it well. It helps new employees feel connected and engaged. But like you said most places feel more sink or swim.
