Winning the Lottery
In January of 2014, Readers Digest posted an article about winning the lottery. The most interesting tid-bit I gathered was that 70 percent of winners (no matter how big the jackpot) waste away or spent their riches in 5 years or less. While I'm not going to get into the ramifications of their actions, I will agree that this is a life-changing predicament. For the many more non-winners, there can also be some valuable lessons to learn.
The reason I chose this topic is to instill good-feeling thoughts and a sense of motivation for those who are dealing with a level of despair that seems like life is going nowhere fast. While I do not condone going through a life's savings on scratch-offs or a gambling binge to Las Vegas, I'm simply stating that there is some power behind the imagination of winning the lottery and what you might do with the dough.
Many of us have dreamt of feeling what it might be like to win a large sum of money. Whether it be $1M or $100M isn't important, though there is likely a more drawn-out thought process when considering larger amounts. The importance lies in the newly found expendible income - or perceived freedom that you now experience. When you are able to remove yourself from your current reality and explore ideas that you otherwise would not be thinking, it wakes up a part of your creative mind that could have been otherwise sleeping in a complacent or even negative state.
Considering what to do with millions opens up dreams and desires and the positive impact they can have on your life and society. Perhaps it may trigger some thoughts in your mind that you have thought in the past - some thoughts you could accomplish whether you win the lottery or not. The point is - this little $2 exercise has potential to opening you up into a new reality and provide some motivation that stays with you long after the drawing as passed. Write your goals, intentions, or dreams down so that you can reference them, or even create a vision board with images to sustain your interest visually.
While the odds of winning the lottery are substantially not in your favor, you can certainly steal away some new found thoughts that can develop into a belief that you can do something. Who knows, maybe you can make your millions the old fashioned way...

For me personally I would ensure all my family would be looked after and spread the wealth and proceed to use the funds to help less fortunate people than myself.
Thank you for your good feeling thoughts,Nick!
If I won the jackpot I would hire a wealth management firm to create trusts for my family and live a pretty modest life. Not the best of everything, just enough money to spend time with my family and invest in myself and my kids with classes and travel and quality healthcare. I would create a small foundation to help mothers who have experienced mental illness get healthy and be stronger for their children. I would work on my art and have fun trying to make more money than I spent on it. I would come up with a budget with my financial advisor for how much I could give away every year to friends and select charities and then I would do just that. Easy come easy Go. When my budget ran out that would be it and I would plan for next year.
It's my favorite pick me up thought! Just $2 and I get the chance to stand on the edge of my dream and stretch up my hands hoping for the gift from the universe. If it doesn't come tonight I just keep working on my blog and keep dreaming knowing someday it'll all come true.
Thanks again and good luck!
