A pilot dials her destination into an onboard computer and simply follows coordinates to reach an endpoint. Nowadays, planes can basically fly and land themselves with auto-pilot features. This is not to say anyone can jump into the cockpit and fly a leg from LAX to MSP... no - it still takes hundreds of hours of flight training to understand the mechanics of an aircraft and how to maneuver the big bird during inclement weather, day or night.

When a plane takes off, can the pilot see the destination ahead of them? Not hardly. There is pre-planning and trust that measurements taken will result in everyone reaching their desired destination. Much like how a pilot sets their sights on the next leg of flight, so does the human mind when gauging a new venture or goal. Although the final product may not be readily visible, when there is faith in the process - a track can be followed to keep you moving in the right direction of your outcome.

Our minds are the most dynamic tool known. Napoleon Hill said, "If you do not control your mind, it will control you". If you believe this to be true, then underatanding the importance of setting sights on what you want becomes clear. Though at times, the decision making process can be rather ambiguous. Not everyone has a crystal clear image of what they want or how they will achieve it. For some, it takes more discipline and work to arrive a plan that works for them.
