When your sugar is too sweet
Sugar, everyone or almost everyone likes to have something sweet at one time or another. The problem comes when we become addicted to that sweet thing.
The human body requires intake of sugar on a daily basis in order to function, for example the brain must have oxygen and glucose (a form of sugar) to function well.
Sometimes in an emergency situation when the body goes into crisis, one of the parameter that is evaluated is the blood glucose level.
If the number is below 60mg/dl the body will began to show symptoms of hypoglycemia (low glucose). A normal blood glucose level is 70-110mg/dL in an individual who does not have a diagnosis of diabetes.
In an individual with diabetes the numbers varies depending on the individual physiological make-up.
Our sugar can be too sweet if we are consuming too many foods with sugar, such as cake, breads, sodas, whole milk, rice, potatoes and the list goes on.
To help determine the amount of sugar you are consuming it is important to check the nutritional label on these foods. In the absence of checking the contents, the body will use what it need for energy and store the rest in the form of fat.
The body will continue to do so and then our size will start to change, get fat. Yes i said it, the body will begin to be obese.
From here it is off to the races for exercise and checking sugar levels, changing wardrobes, becoming self-conscious out the body and having low self-esteem. That's when the sugar is too sweet.
In my next post I will talk about avoidance, and monitoring blood glucose levels
