Quote of the Day:

“Forgiveness is the attitude of the strong.” Mahatma Gandhi

Meaning of the Quote:

When you are able to forgive others for the wrongs that they have done unto you, it shows your strength. There is nothing weak about the ability to forgive others.

Discussion of the Quote:

Forgiveness is for you not for the person who has wronged you. When you are able to forgive others, you are able to see them and not let them control your emotion by being angry with them for what they have done to you. Instead, you forgive them so that you can go on with your own life and not be stuck with your anger.

Additionally, to be able to forgive someone, you have to be willing and able to let go of the disappointment and hurt that person caused you. It means that you have to go deep within yourself to be able to forgive that person. It is not saying that you don’t care and you allow that person to get away with what he/she has done to you. It is more than that. It means to forgive that person so that you no longer hold on to any animosity towards that person.

Final Thoughts:

What Is Forgiveness?

“Psychologists generally define forgiveness as a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness.”

Finally, forgiveness doesn't mean that you condone or excuse the offense. Nor does it mean that you deny the seriousness of the offense against you. Furthermore, it does not obligate you to reconcile with the person who harmed you, or release that person from legal accountability. Instead, forgiveness will bring you peace of mind and free you from corrosive anger.

Forgiveness is a process that can take time and it may not happen immediately. Also, it is not event; it consists of several steps that are not linear.

I appreciate your time, comments and likes.

Nichola

Hello Nichola,

It is very nice to hear from you and to read about your topic Forgivness :)

I also acknowledge this trait in my values.

I also know that holding onto other people's mistakes can make us sick or sicker because negative energy gets stuck in the physical body.

We must clean our energy daily of other people's actions towards us.

I appreciate your point

This is a vital piece of information that a lot of people need to know that they do not have to condone to 'Forgive'.

Wishing you a wonderful week 💐

Hi Nichola,
Absolutely correct, my friend. People need to forgive themselves too. Especially those who are filled with self loath. Without self forgiveness, the journey on a path to self sestruction. So, forgiveness for others is one thing. But, self forgiveness is something of another nature.

Thank you sharing to heighten awareness of issue.
