Be Present!
“Nobody can really see into the future. So see into the present. Appreciate what is in front of you right now. We can all become ‘here’ voyants.” David Cuschieri. Yes, stay in the here and now! “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery,” All we have is today, that is why it is called the present. All our strength and power lie in the now. All we have is now - So, be present!
Don’t lose out on the present by hanging on for dear life to the past. It is the past. Yes, we go down memory lane from time to time but we can not dwell in that space. Neither, we can not look back with regrets because we can not change the past, no matter how desperately we would like to. It is gone; it only remains in our memories. Focus on the now! Step out of the past. It is not a place you want to live. “You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to embrace the present.” Jan Glidewell
Moreover, stepping into the future is not your place to be. Stay right here right now! “Try your very best to live in the present moment where your heart beats are.” Bernard Basset. When you are too busy regretting the past, and worrying about tomorrow, you are missing out on the present where your happiness lies. So, live in the here and now. Stop living your lives between two extremes which is trying to relive the past or trying to experience the future before it arrives. Instead, find a place in the middle of these two extremes by living now. Today is the most valuable, powerful and the greatest day of your life, so make it count.
Furthermore, “With the past, I have nothing to do; nor with the future. I live now." Ralph Waldo Emerson. It will do you no good leaning backwards to look back into the past nor to lean forward to get a glimpse into the future. Instead, stay upright, be in the present. This is where your happiness lies. "If you have one eye on yesterday, and one eye on tomorrow, you’re going to be cockeye today." Unknown. I know you want to be able to see the now, so do not be cockeyed today. “I need neither future nor past, but to learn to take today not too fast.” Jeb Dickerson
In closing, “We can easily manage if we will only take, each day, the burden appointed to it. But the load will be too heavy for us if we carry yesterday’s burden over again today, and then add the burden of the morrow before we are required to bear it.” John Newton
I appreciate your time and your comments.

As I was reading your post Nichola this thought came to me "Freedom only exists in the present, everything else is bondage".

I like the last quote by John Newton so just carry the burden of today and lay down the burden of yesterday. I'm going to have to start trying to do that.
