Progress after Week 6

The first piece of good news is that whilst a lot of my posts are hitting Pg2 and Pg3 of Google, I have managed to get my ONLY product review all the way up there onto PAGE 1!

Unless any of you are looking to ruin my party, the results I get show that the post is the 7th link down on the 1st page of Google?

I signed up for Google alerts and within a couple of hours an alert came through with a press release for a new product. I was at that stage of the training where I needed to include a review post so though it was a good time to give it a go.

Keyword results were favourable, albeit the monthly searches were low. They would be right, it’s a brand new product after all? I set to, researching the product, writing it up, publishing to the site, sharing through the social channels and getting comments. Then left it alone without giving it any though for a couple of weeks.

During a time when I was thinking ‘is all this worth the effort?’ (I know you’ve all been there), I was going through my posts and checked to see if Google had even cared to notice any of my efforts. It was surprising to see a post on Pg3, then a shock to see this review on Pg1.

Yeah, I smiled, maybe it is worth the effort after all :)

Anyway, the long and short of it is i have not yet made a financial sale from this review. But in all honesty I couldn’t care less at this early stage. It was just nice to see some sort of payoff for the work I’d put in.

Although the training is very structured and leads you towards the best practices, I have found the community training and blogs equally if not more informative. I now find myself stuck at a point in the training, not in a negative way, as I still have so much to do before I can even think of moving on.

I have struggled over the last 2 weeks to commit as much time to WA as I’d like as other commitments have to take priority sometimes. However I am 15 posts in and have a long long list of things to write about so am eager to free up some time to continue with what I have started.

One final though here, is how long each post takes me to complete. I heard Kyle give an estimate in one of his blogs that each post takes around 90 minutes to complete. It seems to take me anywhere between 3-5 hours to get a 1,500 - 2,000 word post written and published with images.

I wonder what it takes the average WA community blogger to get their material out there to the world?

Congrats, keep up the good work

Congratulations. Sounds like you are doing great. It takes me 2 to 4 hours to get a post ready to publish; and that is when the research is mostly done ahead of time. But somtimes I think I move like a snail...so I might not be average.

It's a growth process and yu are doing fine.

Nice one, well done. Keep up the good work and I'm sure the cash will follow.

Great progress - keep it up!
