How to eat an elephant

Little by little, bite by bite. Sometimes ya may feel like giving up, and you'll never eat that elephant in one sitting. It's a bit like climbing a mountain, do it sensibly and step by step. Ya might wanna quit and feel like screaming and shouting, possibly breaking stuff. But patience and commitment, determination and having the right combination of why, and a strong support structure. These things will help. Shortly after I landed in Sligo I'd a bit of an accident, and I remember sitting smoking a at the door of the hospital where I was a guest for a while. I'd a crushed ankle that the surgeons were afraid they might have to amputate, and as I sat there, looking at this view from the carpark, I thought I hope they don't have to cut my foot off, and when/if ever I get back up and mobile, the first thing I'm gonna do is climb this mountain.

Well that was 15 years ago and today I took this pic and I've lost count of the number of times I've climbed it and in all weather conditions. Sometimes just solo with my dog, other times with an eclectic mix of great people. But I never thought I'd be putting it on a blog like this, on a platform like this but there ya go. Ya see today my 1st ever website also went live, and I know lots of ppl have 50 or more and have had for years, but I never did computers and computers was always the last thing I could possibly want to complicate my life.

So the website for me was akin to climbing this mountain with a crushed ankle. I was told to start a business I needed a website, so I hired two guys at different stages to build it for me. They both let me down badly and cost me years, as I had no cash to have another do it, and after being stung twice?????

Right so, back to eating the elephant, so I stuck at it, and educated myself here and there time allowing, and kept going. Research here and there etc. Long story short, I chanced upon this WA buzz a couple of weeks ago, and stuck at the training and sometimes felt frustrated, but the site's live, and I've got poor site support's heads wrecked. Thanks also to the guys'n gals who reached out and offered help and advice. I'm not always the most patient either but, it does work and I know this is just the next step in my campaign I've been committed to for years, and the site itself is far from finished; still needs lots of content and needs polishing up, but it's allowed me to keep moving forward with the next steps.

So this is what I'd like to advise any newbies just starting here, or if you're feeling overwhelmed, follow this advice and you'll not go far wrong. Step by step, bite by bite.

Tis like Zen Dog says

He knows not where he's going, the ocean will decide,

tis not the destination counts, but the glory of the ride........

Peace.

That was beautiful, thank-you. And congratulations.

Step by step we will all get there.

Wow, I like this. I'm glad you recovered from your ankle injury. You are an inspiration to many who fall and have trouble getting back up again. You're right, it does take baby steps to achieve our dreams. This is excellent advice for anyone that feels overwhelmed and is on the verge of quitting.
Keep up the good Work, and more power to you! I would give you a high five but I'm not where close to you, so consider this a high-five! Best wishes and may you accomplish all the goals that you undertake!
