My First WA Post - Using OneNote to Help Organize My WA Activity.
So after a couple of months, mostly dedicated to training, I've decided I need to get my feet wet and write a blog. Hopefully, this one might be useful to some newbies like me who have a brain cramp from "information overload" and need to organize their thoughts using a tool that functions like a 3-ring binder, but is electronic. Hello OneNote.
What is OneNote?
OneNote is a Microsoft product which is like a digital version of a classic notebook. OneNote is free for Windows and MAC systems. If you have Windows 10, it is included. If you have an older Windows OS or have a MAC, you can find free downloads by doing a web search.
I also found references to other applications that are similar to OneNote that you can research:
Evernote - CintaNotes - Tomboy - Tiddlywiki - Nevernote
You can find many articles on the internet on any of these choices and what there features are and how they compare to OneNote. I chose OneNote because it is already installed on my Windows 10 PC and because I am somewhat familiar with earlier versions of this. A fairly new feature and, I think, one of the best is that you can access your application from anywhere on any device.
The Power of OneNote
- Ability to add pages and rearrange them quickly .
- Using [Sections] and [Pages] and [SubPages] helps you find your notes easily.
- It can be synced to your Outlook account so that your Email, Calendar, To Do Lists and Tasks. And, you can update or review from either application.
- You can insert tables, spreadsheets, pictures, hyperlinks and it even has a built in "Screen Clipper" which works like a charm and embeds into the page you are working in.
- You can embed pictures, videos (OneNote 2016 supports embedding video content from sites like Dailymotion, Vimeo, YouTube, and others)
- You can also make audio and/or video clips
- You can share a Page, a Section or even your entire Notebook.
Could OneNote Help You Get Organized?
You may already have an application that does this, but if you are still taking notes in a paper notebook, keeping links to your favorite blogs or training in another notebook or in a word document filed on your hard drive, then you might want to check it out. And did I mention that it is FREE?
Here is a Sample of one section of my Notebook.

Hope this might be useful, especially to "newbies" like me.

Besides One Note, Grammarly, Rapid Writer, and WA content writer there is a mighty array of awesome writing tools available Nancy!
Thanks for the feedback. I use Rapid Writer and Site Content in Rubix for writing content, but use OneNote to organise my notes, favorite links, clippings, reminders of webinars.
