Bloom Where You Are Planted
One of my favorite quotes is "BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED"!
So, when I see all the Brouhaha about rankings, I wonder if we are putting too much attention on that aspect of WA.
I think it is encouraging to see our rankings improve, but I also am not upset if the needle doesn't move and don't feel I have to worry about it. My motivation is the awesome training and support of the WA community.
So what does "Bloom Where You are Planted" have to do with this conversation? Well, I guess my message is that wherever you are, whatever you are doing, BLOOM! Wasting time on worrying will only interfere with your creative energy.

Amen. I believe that if you just go about taking care of your business, the other stuff will take care of itself. I find it distracting and sometimes deflating when I open the laptop in the morning and see that my rankings have dropped a few points....oh no, what am I doing wrong??......nothing. Just keep moving forward.
When they first started the new algorithm, my ranking (which wasn't all that high) went from 1082 to 3267 in just two days. Now I'm back in the 1100's, after doing a few posts which I had not done. I still have to finish the training courses, but I am truly happy to just be doing stuff. So, if I go up again, no problem. Life is a roller coaster and as Betty Davis (actress) said in "All About Eve"....'Fasten your seatbelts, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!'
