To the journey ahead
Today I truly embark on my journey, to really take WA seriously due to the fact I just finished level 2. The funny thing is I feel like I'm so far behind, and that my website sucks, that is totally my fault. I have not been giving this my all, I can do better and I will, the funny thing about all this is that I am still here. This is the first time I have really tried to finish something that I have started.
Staying focused
The problem I have is staying focused on the task at hand, my mind gets to wondering off, and I get distracted easily. Just to follow instructions sometimes can be overwhelming, in the past week I've taken off from writing and even logging in. Yes my work ethic sucks at the moment, and this blog is probably not the most positive, the truth about me is what I am writing. For me to get better I have to confess and get it out. This platform is awesome and regardless of how I have not been doing my best, a little persistence has gotten me to the next level of learning.
Goals
My weekly goal is to show up every day to learn and build on something new and apply it daily. There is so much to learn and I have to realize the only person I am competing with is myself. The rose that is up there is the beauty that this world has to offer, and also the more beautiful the rose the sharper the thorns.

Hi Willie. Totally understand how you feel. It's not a 'get rich quick' scheme as I'm sure you are aware, but the rewards are there if you stick with it - and not always in the way you first imagine. There are so many ways to grow and develop when using this site so I wish you all the best.

The good things are that you've decided to take WA seriously, you've decided to do better and you recognize that you have a problem with staying focused. You even have great goals!
I think it's great that you are picking yourself back up to do better. We all struggle with negative thoughts, I guess some of us more than others but we have to push them out and keep going, just like you are.

So nice to express how we feel. It really helps! It does take a lot of effort and discipline to keep focused.
You have learned one very important thing already. You are competing with yourself. We all have to face those thoughts. There are so many things that distract. Sometimes those things we call distractions actually have to be taken care of.
I like your idea of setting goals. That is one thing I do too I get more done that way. It keeps my mind sharp (active)!
Since WA is such a wonderful place, we all want to keep moving forward and encourage each other.

It’s not just you with this mindset, reading this was like reading my own thoughts. I’m sure some people are suited to this, and some just need to persevere and keep at it.
I’ve definitely slumped over the last week, made excuses to not make time that I’ve otherwise made into a routine for months now.
I’m also very critical of my websites, to the point that I nearly started from scratch again. But I didn’t, I’m just adding to them as and when I can, and trying to dedicate some time to them, WA, or other resources to learn as much as possible and keep working at it.
I’m sure when you make it you’ll look back on this and see how far you’ve come, and I hope I’m on the same path.

It’s easy to be self-critical, we’ve all been there. Try to start small.
Maybe start with being consistent with working on your site for even 15 minutes at a time. Then another 15 followed by 30 minutes. Then more.
You have to put in the work. We seldom realize at the time that we may be doing our best work. You may not recognize it until later.
So post some content. You wrote this post, didn’t you? You can do another.
