Sometimes A Little Break Can Hurt Your Website
Hi Everyone!
Just checking back in after being gone for almost ten days. A little longer then I expected, but spending time with my family in park city was a blast! Haven't uploaded any of the pictures to my computer yet but when I do I might upload some of them on here.
Anyways, while the trip itself was great fun I did something I recommend never doing and even though it could have been a lot worse I still regret doing it.
What did I do that was so bad you ask?
While it may not seem like a big deal, I took a break from working on my website. I even took my computer up with me and didn't work on my site at all. Luckily for the site I'm working on I'm still in the really early stages and thus there wasn't actually a comment for me to reply to but the guilt sits in just the same.
Last night when I started working on a post and gave up mid strife, I realized "what if someone commented while I was away". That person just waited almost 11 days for me to respond and that is not the type of integrity I have promised on my website.
I suppose its not that big of a deal since I didn't receive any recent comments but I'm a firm believer of practicing what you preach. To me as a writer and website builder my website it my baby, and just like a baby you would never abandon it! Becoming a website builder means taking on the responsibility of that website. You created it and you must dedicate yourself to it, for you the health of you website and for yourself, if you are to turn your website into the gem you imagine.
Another thing I recently re-realized is that sometimes when I'm thinking of the future I think too greatly on what I want to have accomplished as far as my success. While I believe this positive reinforcement will help me cultivate the type of success I want, I think its important that you write not with the mindset of making money but in the light of creating quality content. When prioritizing and emphasizing the content, the pillars of your website, everything else seems to hold up.
Thanks for taking the time to read my rant/confession! :)
If you have any similar experiences I'd love to hear you stories!

Thanks for commenting! Its been a week since I've been back and I'm still not in the swing of things yet. I worked a little bit this week, but not near as much as I wanted to get done.
