About Nebulas
Joined January 2015
My name is Ming, I was born in China, made my Bachelor of Arts in "Visual Communications" in the Netherlands and now am living as a freelance artist and filmmaker in Germany. Creativity is my life.

I love the digital world and have experience with creating websites and webdesign. I started and failed with several own website projects, because I have always avoided the marketing and SEO part. Now with the courses, the community and tools here at WA I want to change that and take full control of my own projects.

I am looking forward to the joint progress and success with like-minded in this community.

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate Minghao!

Nathaniell here - you probably remember me from my site One More Cup of Coffee. I'm glad to see you've signed up and are ready to get started building your online business.

Right now, there are just two things you need to know.

1) Those who ask questions interact with the community are far more likely to learn faster and meet their goals. The support here at WA is the best in the internet marketing industry...please take advantage of it.

2) You can get started learning how to make money by doing your Level 1 Certification Course. Click on the green "Get Started Here" button or just click this link Online Entrepreneur Certification - Getting Started (Level 1).

And don't forget that you can also access me for 1-on-1 support by leaving a message on my profile https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/nathaniell or by responding directly to this message.

There are a ton of other features you have access to right now, but they are explained in your main training linked above. Your #1 job right now is to get started on the first lesson.

PS. Did you know that you'll already have your website built by lesson 4? Crazy, I know!

Get access to a 2-Part-Series Live Case Study webinar. It's video series where a professional internet marketer creates a complete 'niche website'. All steps are included and thoroughly explained, including research, rank, content creation and monetization. Total length of the videos is 2+ hours

This will give you a broad overview of the type of site you will create on Wealthy Affiliate. I think it's always a good idea to know the direction you are headed before you start your journey.

Hi there Nathaniell, just signed up via your link. I came across several sites promoting WA, but when I saw your video and read that you were in China and speak Chinese (I was born in Beijing), I though I'm gonna sign up with this guy. Well, I have bunch of questions, but I think I will watch some lessons first, so maybe some of the question get answered already.
Later on it would be great first to find out if WA is the right thing for me and if so to get some coaching along the way.
Excited to be here. Best regards!

That's perfect Ming. I was in Huizhou and Longyan (Fujian), I'm not sure if you've been there.

Anyway, take a look at the lessons and either respond to the message here or better yet drop by my profile and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hey Nathaniell, yeah thanks for your reply! I never was in Fujian, but it sounds good what you were doing. Yes, I hope my experience from webdesign etc. will benefit me in this process.

I have a basic question right now: how do I find out if I should work and apply the WA knowledge on my existing website/blog or put my effort on creating new niche site?

thanks!

That's going to be up to you. I'm not sure what your other website is about. I can take a look, just type it as website dot com here.

Usually I suggest starting a new site so you can go through the training from Day 1 and do things exactly how WA recommends, but I'll take a look at your site first.

That would be really great! My website www(dot)voidvisuals(dot)com is my main art project. I have a bunch of products, but sales are very low. I didnt do much SEO on it yet, so I think there is still a lot of potential. But I tried to find affiliate programs and products for this category and there are really not many, barely anything. So any tip you could give me on that would be great.

Actually I think I will start off a new website in the area of visual effects - like you suggested. Though in WA lessons it says that you should pick your niche very fast, like in 15-30min. But I think this is on the long term actually the most important choice, what to build your business around. I am a bit confused, because actually I think I should do some research first, collect information, question my own passion about it and then make an educated and dedicated decision. Because I also tend to focus on a very few websites/projects and push them to success instead of heaving many mediocre websites. What is your opinion on that?

Thanks so far and best wishes!

The site looks great. I think the main thing that could help you would be to create more content for it. Content creation drives traffic to a website (for free), and is the main way I grow traffic to my own sites.

The thing about niche choice is that a lot of people think for a day...two days....1 week...then never get started. Better to have a false start and get rolling than to think forever and never begin.

Any website that has traffic can make money, so we want to start getting content on the site ASAP so you can drive traffic to it. Make sense?

I think starting a site in visual effects, or even turning your current site into a visual effects niche site would work. Your current site seems to be on a related topic, no? It's up to you!

Thanks a lot for taking your time to look at my website and your helpful feedback! Yes I think content creation is really my issue and what I should focus on. Writing texts is not my strength (yet), so I think I have to practice that or find other forms of content creation.

Concerning the niche choice, yes it makes sense what you say. It is only that I already have some past experiences on that and used to create other website projects that didnt work out (no passion behind it), so I had the feeling that I was too quickly starting to run into the wrong direction. That means I already had some trial-and-errors and because WA sounds really promising (because of real help and feedback like yours), I don't want this to be the next fail. I think now I need to be clear about what niche/topic to choose and then keep on track. Of course you are right, that it's not good to hesitate for days and weeks and not getting started at all.

Concerning my own website, yes it is certainly topic related to "visual effects", though my art project is mainly content-driven (fractals) and I don't even know what products I could promote as an affiliate. Or I have to extend the frame of my topics. Whereas with "visual effects" in a broader sense I can reach a much bigger and specific niche, for example young artists looking for the right software to start getting into visual effects. That way I could affiliate many of the software packages out there. Another thing is also that I want to keep a certain atmosphere on my art website and I am not sure if that gets lost when I put too much off-topic content (for example reviews on softwares etc.) on it. So I think this would be the most important thing for me to find out now, whether to work on the existing website or to start another one. Any suggestion of yours is greatly appreciated.

Can you show me what other websites except onemorecupofcoffe you run? So I can look at their content and this might help me get clarity.

Thanks a lot man!

I have listed some of my older sites here: Nate's Niche Reveal

They are not "active" but you can kind of see the type of site WA will teach you to make. These were my first sites, so they are not fantastic, but worth looking at anyway.

There is ALWAYS a way to monetize a website, even without affiliate products (Google Adsense). But you can can usually find something related: Drawing software, fractal creation ebooks, how to sell your art online ebooks, visual effects creators, etc etc

Thanks again Nate, for your feedback. I just read your article and I really liked the information you provided, it is indeed very helpful for me to gain some clarity. Yes, I think I will work it out, how to structure my sites.

I see that your first 2 programs were with clickbank. I was wondering if those e-products already existed and you sold them as affiliate or did you actually create those products yourself? I am also learning marketing with clickbank, though I read on Kyle's blog some negative pinpoints about it. I am just wondering what works better: well written blog VS one of those tuned sales pages like with most clickbank products.

Thanks for your help so far. With this personal support and quality information on WA I will sure sign up premium.

Cheers!

The products I promoted from Clickbank were other peoples stuff I promoted as an affiliate. There's a lot of junk there, but some good stuff. I did a training on it: How To Find A Good Clickbank Product To Promote

All of my success has been with a blog. Personally, I don't like sales pages (AKA squeeze pages or landing pages). The blog stuff is what they teach in WA, and it's how I learned. That's what I recommend you do as well. I think users prefer that kind of experience anyway.

Hi Nate, I am just checking out your clickbank product video, following the links to the other articles about competition research and so on. So much helpful information here! I need much more time to watch them all.
Yes I already started with the lessons from course 1, but since there are so many other helpful stuff, I am hopping around and watch whatever seems most useful to me right now.
I will sure let you know about my progress. Thanks for checking back!
