My Favorite Saying

Disappointing Start

It was the first Monday everyone went back to work and back to school in the year 2018. I had the day all planned out with content writing, starting a new website for someone, and had 'time slotted' for everything else.

So far, this is all I have accomplished. The day started just fine, and then it just went downhill from there...

I am sitting here just wondering if I should be happy about my day, or if I should be disappointed.

I know, I know, I am thankful for every day I have. I have a brother in a fight for his life right now, and is staring death in the face. So yes I am thankful for whatever the day brings. I guess part of it is just I wanted (and there is the issue) It was what I wanted and didn't take anyone or anything else into consideration.

Future Plans

So the plan in 2018 is to start fresh with a very different attitude for each day! I know that the days won't always go according to my plans, but it will be a day to be thankful for!

The day may be disappointing, and not what I would choose, but the day will be my day and I WILL BE THANKFUL for it.

I hope your day is a success, as everyone of mine are.

Hi NCH,
I agree things do not always go straight but with curves and side exits.
Trust your brother has no pain, and when he does, exit this life, he will find another.
He has had a wonderful family and this is what's it's all about, family.
I send you love and light.
Cheers Jae

Awe, Jae thank you

Even if you feel unhappy, angry or disappointed, you still should be grateful for many things in your life and for difficult circumstances too because they make you stronger and help you to become the full person you are now. If you look back at all difficult moments in your life, I am sure; you appreciate what you learned from it. All experiences in your life help you to make a wiser decision in the future. I wish you all the best in your online journey!

Oh, I am a happy thankful and positive person!

Life is a journey, and I am thankful to be on it!

Thanks for your comments

Good for you. Tough days can get you down, especially if you are goal-oriented and fail to implement your plans. I know I am. So I have to forgive myself for failing to measure up to my own expectations, re-examine the reality of the expectations, adjust the plan and take action the next day. At the same time, enjoy and celebrate what is happening each day, every day.

I guess that is what I lack, is the forgiveness of self!

Thanks for the encouragement,

NCH

No words to add Noreen but just to reiterate the very kind sentiments below. You have very good reason for being distracted or disappointed. You are probably doing the kindest thing for yourself and putting ‘pen to paper’. You are amongst lovely souls that can hear you.

No need to force yourself to do anything.

It’s your day, so just enjoy it as you choose.

Wayne

Thanks, Wayne,

It is great to be able to put pen to paper!

I find it very therapeutic.

We never know what life has in store for us so we have to enjoy the good days and learn how we can turn the bad days into good ones. Just like you, I am thankful for both as I feel blessed just knowing that I have been given the opportunity to live and learn another day. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Jerome

Hello Jerome

Just thankful for each day

I can relate. My second oldest brother left us 7 years ago, and for some unknown reason, our Mother and I were able to extend his life a few months by taking him to chemo treatments at the VA. Long story short, it was the hardest thing in my life to do. My hat is off to you during this time, and rest assured there are higher forces that we are dealing with, and things will get better , the way they are meant to be.

Yes disappointment, and a fresh look the very next day. That's what we do. Keep on keeping on. Take care.

Thanks, condolences as I know time heals, but a loss is still a loss regardless of how long ago!

Just one day at a time, just one day at a time!

Thank you for your kindness

If life did not have ups and downs it would be boring. What ever comes our way whether we like it or not we must be grateful to be part of it.
If you were driving from South Australia to West Australia you would find it boring as one 90 mile section is level and straight, BORING. So bad that for more than 200 miles there is a golf coarse with one hole every so many miles to break the monotony of journey, "LIFE". Always looking forward with a positive attitude is a win, win for a good healthy lifestyle.

Tom.

I know that things aren't always what we want when we want, and I do not find life boring that's for sure!
AND that is a good thing, isn't it!
Thank you for commenting Tom, and maybe someday I will get to drive that boring part of Australia!!

Take care, and happy to see you on the 10th of January!

NCH

If you like golf good. I have never been across there as it is too far.

Nope don't care for the sport at all! But hey an adventure is an adventure!!

I get up each morning and think who's life can I make a difference in today. That's the only way I can get though the day. Finding someone to make a positive difference in their life. It usually ends up someone has blessed me in the process. I love looking at life this way.

Tried and true

Elaine

What a wonderful to look at a day ahead!

Thankfulness is something we all can have.

Someone asked me the other day what my bouquet of thankfulness looked liked when I closed the door on my day!

All the best

Noreen
