Doing- The Best Lesson Learned
There are not a lot of things that I do on a day to day basis that really impress me. I am not an easily excitable person. Since joining Wealthy Affiliate I have been amazed almost every day.
I went from being an out of work truck driver to a business owner over the last month. I built a website that I am proud of. It keeps getting better everyday. I have created contacts that I didn't have before. I found people that were willing to help me achieve this even though they don't know me at all. The people at WA are far and away the most giving group of people I have ever met in any line of business.
If I were going to start all over again I would start right here with Wealthy Affiliate. My goals are being met every day. With every question I ask. The biggest problem I have come across is that there are not enough hours in a day to do all the things I want to do. I get an email telling me that someone created a post or lesson or posted a question and I read it. That usually leads me to a new question of my own that I start to research. When I find the answers I end up with more questions about something else that will improve my website or my business and it just keeps going. I really have to catch myself to get back to whatever I was doing to help my business in the first place or nothing gets done.
Which leads me to the most important lesson I have learned so far. I used to work for a construction company in Massachusetts and the owner of the company would stop by the job site once in a while. When he would come to the job site and see people standing around he would always tell us, "Do something, even if it is wrong we can fix it later." I really didn't understand this until now. The hardest part of building a business, starting a website, or even writing a page or post is the fear that it might not be the right thing to do now. Through this process I have learned that you have to DO something, even if it's wrong. You can fix it later.
I chose a theme that didn't work. I changed it. I wrote posts that didn't make sense. I re-wrote them later. I misspelled words and screwed up punctuation. All of it has been fixed. None of that would have happened if I hadn't done anything. I would not have made any mistakes, but I wouldn't have had the opportunity to learn from them either.
My advice to anyone that is reading this would be... Get off this blog and go do one thing to make your business, website, or a post better. Then you can go back and fix it.
Thanks for all the support
Nick

I was reading your post and thinking: "that's the same thing that happens to me every single day since I joined this awesome community".
WA is actually on my mind from the moment I wake up, till the moment I go to sleep.
You're totally right, Nick.
Just go and do it! That should be our motto! And then, you can always fix it, or change it, or improve it.
Have a great weekend, my friend. And DO it! ;)
Cheers.
Israel.

So cool to see people like yourself who arrive at this site with just the slightest bit of internet knowledge and only an inkling of what they want to do with it. A few months later, I'm reading how empowered they've become and beaming from how much they've learned in a short time.
Just keep going for it, Nick. I think you're doing great!
