Entering the E book arena
I was thinking of topics that I needed to write about for my website when I came upon a dilemma. I wrote a post a couple of weeks back that I had to break down into 3 parts. The amount of information on the subject was in excess of 5,000 words.
I wrote the 3 posts and published them on my site over 4 days. The first one did well the second one which I thought I did a much better job writing didn't do as well and the 3rd part was well as close to a waist of time as I have had with any post on my site.
I promoted the heck out of it on social media hoping to create an interest but to no avail. So that got me thinking about my audience. I have a baseball website for coaches. It is baseball season and most coaches are busy coaching. So I have to keep my material short and sweeet like a great hitters swing.
I then got to reading a couple of the training items available here on WA and came up with a great idea that answers a burning question that a lot of coaches have.
My problem is it will be another one of those 5.000 plus word posts. So I decided that my email capture campaign is, for lack of a better term, failing. I have captured 5 emails from non-family members since starting in February. I would try giving something away. I don't want to go out and purchase an item because that will get expensive if I give one to everyone who signs up and I already tried the "register for a chance to win" approach. Nobody registered so nobody won.
So I have this idea that answers a question for my audience and a need for my website. Doing a little math I put 1 and 1 together and decided to write an Ebook. Hopefully I will have something to give my audience and maybe even sell to those who don't know I exist yet.
Wish me luck and anyone that has any good tips for me about writing this thing or maybe publishing it when it is done I am all ears or eyes I guess would be more appropriat

Hi Nick, that sounds a good idea. Your problem solving involving the seasonal/topical issue and the length of your post was inspiring. I'd be really interested to see how things go. Sadly, I have no experience of writing ebooks, but have been 'toying' with the idea recently. Good luck, Sue :)
