What happens with SiteRubix Websites after ?

This is just a short message, which I want to publish as it is really important to be clear.

To the question "What happens with our free websites if we don't upgrade to premium?"some answers were given. I don't mention any name because I just want to clear the confusion.

Here are two answers:

  • "Hi - Starter members' SiteRubix websites are deleted after 6 months, unless they upgrade to Premium."
  • "Hi - you can stay as a starter member for as long as you want, but if you haven't upgraded to premium by six months, your free SiteRubix website will be deleted.

You will receive an email approximately two weeks prior to this to let you know. It is considered that six months is a long enough period for you to decide that you are taking your business seriously, and therefore an appropriate time to upgrade. "

In fact what happens is:

"After a period of inactivity, starter membership websites get "parked" and can be published again within a reasonable period of time. When starters are regularly working on their website, the website stays. Unfortunately, a lot of starters are creating a website, and abandon the website and leave WA within a couple of weeks. They do not keep all those websites alive.

Active websites are staying published."

This answer is from Loes, thank you Loes.

So don't worry, be happy and work joyfully as always!

Thank you for this question. As a starter member myself, I also need clarification about this because at the moment I can't afford to upgrade to premium yet and I don't when I can. But...it also says on the response that inactive members that abandoned their sites are the one who's going to be deleted..hope that's the case.

Hi, yes it is important.

Let me welcome you also in our family, have you read my post about Starter Life : Stay on track and in touch,

Kindly,
Anne

Thanks Annie! Will check on it just now! ☺

I will have to change that one too, sorry.

I would imagine you would lose your website after six months only if it isn't active.

2

Yes, this is my understanding too.

1

If a Starter member is not active with their website, It makes sense to remove it after 6 months. If a free member is actively working on their website, I would hope that it is NOT removed after 6 months. I would like to know for sure on that.\

Yes, Mel, I want to know that too, because otherwise, the option of being a free member forever wouldn't make sense. Sure if someone doesn't take action for 6 months then it makes sense to remove it as it does just take dust.

But for someone who is actively working on it, I wouldn't understand why it should be deleted. This would also mean that at some period of time you have to upgrade.

I understand that abandoned siterubix websites are deleted and that you cannot leave it dormant for longer than 6 months.

I have sent a msg to Kyle and referenced this post so hopefully we will receive clarification in a few days or so. Its the weekend.

Thank you, Mel, have a nice weekend too

Hi thanks for this blog, unfortunately I am now confused. After 6 months as a free member is your site deleted if you don't become a premium member, or can you use your free site forever?
I asked the same question in chat and was kindly given the response by Kyle to Diane, which I interpret as after six months you will no longer have access to a free site.
Thanks
Denise.

3

Thank you, Denise, yes this is exactly the point we are wondering. I hope this post brings Kyle to give an official and clear update. Stay tuned!

An interesting post, which I would have got wrong had I been asked the question on it.

Hi - the second answer you quoted is one of my responses. I based it on the reply that Kyle gave when I personally asked him about it in Live Chat. Here is his exact response:

“Yes, they are deleted after 6 months if someone remains a Starter member. At that point, we remove them to free up room for people that are serious about building a business online. Premium .siterubix.com websites are NEVER deleted though unless you explicitly remove them. The hosting that we offer to even free websites would cost $50 per month for managed WordPress hosts (that is what the industry standard is). People have 6 full months of the service to decide, and establish which we believe is more than fair.”

I also have a copy of the email which is sent to starter members at the six-month stage. I can PM it to you if you wish to see it.

4

Thank you, Diane, if I understand you right, it is not true that we can stay Starter forever, then. Because if the websites are deleted after 6 months, on what are the members working on? I don't know if it is a language problem, but I think I am missing something.

For sure, I don't doubt your response, I hope you understand me right, it is just still not clear to me.

1

Oh, I agree, it does seem pointless to remain as a free member without a website. I wonder if they can build another one, and get a further six months with that one?

2

Good that we discuss about that.

1

Diane,

Could you be so kind as to PM me a copy of that email?

Thanks!

Mel

Sent as requested.

1

Thanks Diane!

Received and read. But it isn't clear about active members, because they could be filtered out from an email like this.

I'm so hoping active free members aren't affected.

In case Kyle reads these comments before he possibly responds, 6 months is not enough time because of the Google Sandbox effect we have have to endure.

Anyway, I wait and hope.

Mel

2

That's about as clear as it gets and sounds more than reasonable.

There's no such thing as free. WA is making a real monetary investment in people with the six-month trial. Someone has to pay for the infrastructure for WA to even exist.

Unfortunately, more times than not, that investment doesn't pay off in terms of converting members to Premium.

We really have to give WA credit for giving people a genuine, no-strings-attached chance at success. It's a whole lot more than you'll get most anywhere else in life.

3

This is an excellent clarification, not just for new members but also for who have reviews and other information that will need to be updated.

2

Kyle has told us that after 6 months they are deleted to make room for people seriously wanting to build their online business.
However, I understand that websites can be backed up and reinstalled on the free WordPress site.

2

Good useful information, thanks for sharing, Alan.

2

This is good to know, I have heard both answers so thanks for clearing that up.
