A chance to know me better
I have been really ill the last 3 days and have been curled up in pain because I was having a flare up with my fybromyalgia. I wrote a poem so that anyone that doesn't know what the illness does to some ones body may get an idea from my poem.
Every day I'm searching all the time,
To find a pain free moment that I can claim as mine,
A moment that I can't feel the pain,
A moment that fibromyalgia cannot claim.
As I drift off to sleep after hours of pain
To a land that I'm free of anguish and pain,
To a place that I feel myself once again.
To a world where I can go and dance in the rain,
For in this world I can do what comes free
I can hop, skip and jump for hours on end.
I can stand, walk and run and dance with my friends.
For this world is free from all my pain,
In this world the pain can't drive me insane.

Dear Tanya;
I could feel everything you express and wish for yourself in this profound poem. To a lesser degree, both my dear wife and I can empathize with the easing, and the freedom that sleep can bring.
Writing these things down...it just can't be underestimated how therapeutic this is. I hope that it is some tiny consolation to you that you write so well. Your communication comes across most poignantly.
All the best,
Terry

My sister was 'trapped' by pain as well...multiple causes including neuropathy....I wish instead of studying things like goldfish, we were curing instead......personal pet peeve of mine.....
Thank you....too many strikes against her; she passed in December. Happy for her, not for me. The God spared her, though, or at least that's what people keep trying to tell me.
If I can advise you in any way how to manage your pain or if you need someone to talk to about it just let me know.
I started a site just to vent my feelings a long time ago. I only have a couple posts, but it may help you. The site is lifeoferyn.com
I feel your pain, as I live with MS. There will be better days.
