The Universe Gives A Push

A few days ago I mentioned a new goal my fiance' and I had discussed: When I had met or exceeded $1000 in a month for six consecutive months, we'll be moving to a nicer place.

My fiance' knows our landlord really well; as a matter of fact, my fiance' has known our landlord for about 30 years, and has rented from him for nearly that long, too. Because of this, our landlord gives us a bit of a break on our rent, which comes in handy, needless to say.

But the thing is, our landlord isn't nearly as attentive to his renters' needs as many professionally-run apartment complexes are. One such example came up yesterday: when my fiance' and I moved into our present apartment five months ago, our landlord promised a different stove, as the one that was in place wasn't in the best condition. We've been (somewhat) patiently waiting, and finally it looked like it would actually happen yesterday, when our landlord told us that we could look to have it within the hour. The thing was, it really didn't work out like that--not at all. As a matter of fact, our landlord didn't actually get the new stove to our apartment for approximately twelve hours--in the wee hours of early this morning! And then not only did he leave both stoves in the kitchen so he could leave to get some sleep before going deer hunting today (after "assuring" me he'd come back tonight to finish the job), but when we moved the old stove out and got ready to plug in the new stove, we discovered that there is no cord attached to the new stove!

I have to admit that I was extremely frustrated, to say the least.

Now, last night I'd pretty much decided to make the jump to purchase the annual plan with the Black Friday special, but knowing myself as I do, I also know that this little episode has proven to be an impetus to actually take action on my decision; I'm a terrible procrastinator, and there are times that I need the Universe to give me a nudge. So even though this whole dilemma is quite an inconvenience, I really have to thank the Universe for setting it up, because now I have made this purchase and I know that, thanks to the abundance of resources here at Wealthy Affiliate, I can look forward to a much better housing situation, hopefully by this time next year!

Looks like this Thanksgiving season has brought me even more to be grateful for.

***Update***

Despite being unable to contact our landlord, our stove is in place! My incredible fiance' has been able to get it taken care of, despite the fact that he wasn't quite as confident as he would've liked. I love him for diving in and taking care of this!

An interesting side note is that this little situation has shown me that I've definitely picked the right niche for my website, which is cooking-based. Now that I can cook again, I'm as happy as a lark LOL Plus it's given me an idea for another possible niche down the road: preparing meals without electricity.

How about that for making lemons into lemonade?
