A momentary pause...
I became a member at WA late in August &, as with anything else I take on, I went at it full tilt boogie. I now own 6 domains, have a website up but no traffic to speak of yet & know more than I ever thought I would about site building, internet marketing & business in general not to mention have met many awesome people.
My goal, like most of yours, is to get to the point with my online business that I no longer need a job outside the home. I know where I want my sites to go & realize I have a ton of work left to do however I am in a position where all those plans have to be on pause for a bit.
I was approached this last week by a gentleman here in my town who is starting up a company that is right up my alley - Trucking. He's in the same boat with his business as I am with my websites: he knows where he wants to be he just needs some guidance to get there.
Being a former over the road driver he understands the driving part of it all & seems to have the dispatching part down as well but isn't very keen on the backside when it comes to dealing with paperwork, recruiting or contracts. This is where I come in.
I've been an owner operator myself until very recently, I have driver recruiting experience & the knowledge of all the rules & regulations that govern the ridiculous amount of paperwork that DOT has deemed necessary.
I interviewed a couple of weeks ago & we immediately hit it off. I've been working on some things part time at home & he's pleased with the results. Pleased enough that he offered me a nice sum to take over as head recruiter - a position I am able to do from home. How happy am I? I'm not sure there's a word for the level of giddiness I'm feeling right now.
As giddy as I am about this opportunity & the world of possibilities available with all that I've learned here at WA I'm smart enough to know that if I continue trying to burn the candle at both ends I will eventually either get seriously burnt or have no candle left to burn.
Because this is a new company there really is no recruiting department set up as of yet & there is a lot to be done in a short amount of time to get things rolling. With that in mind, I have decided not to give up or quit on the things I want to accomplish with WA but rather to push the pause button for a moment to focus on something that will give me an immediate & steady income.
I have my notebook at the ready & find myself regularly writing down new ideas for my sites &, once I have this recruiting department put together, can't wait to learn more from the community here on how to implement them.

Don't be a stranger, you have been doing so well here. Maybe focus on just one or two of your favorite sites and plan to build them out over a period of time. Totally understand about the job thing, we all have bills and mouths. All the best to you.

Like I said, just needed to focus on one thing for a bit. The opportunity was too good to pass up - a work at home recruiting position which has turned into a Mgmt position that still allows me to work at home & the residual income from the people I recruit is ridiculous!
Just 10 people will earn me enough to cover my monthly bills & allow me to focus some more time on my websites. I'm half way there & hope to be back spending time here on a regular basis in another week or so. (which is good since I have a million new ideas for my original site!)
