Website Tips We Can Always Use!
Hello Guys 'n Dolls!
How are you doing? I hope you are eating and sleeping well... I know I have challenges in these areas with so much to do and learn for this online presence!
I hope you are still motivated to do your best and never give up even though there might be a few obstacles in your path. Just kick them to the curb and keep moving!
Today, I just want to point out a few reminders to help keep your website on par:
- check your loading speed occasionally - too slow might mean less traffic because of the world we live in - instant gratification! SO, ideally a loading speed of about 2 seconds would be good. Tools - GooglePage Speed, Pingdom, and our own SiteSPeed (access through SiteRubix)
- how is your color contrast? can your reader 'see' your words or do they have to get out their magnifying glass?
- font size and spacing - is your content legible or do you have to squint, even wearing your prescription glasses?
- is your website mobile friendly? - adding the AMP plugin might be helpful too if you want
- does your tagline define your website? it might be helpful so that readers get an idea of your mission
- remember small paragraphs and white space - easier on the eyes and the brain as well
- grammar - be careful that what you write can be effortlessly read and understood. Try the free version of Grammarly, I find it very helpful
- navigation - make your website an easy place to find the content you want to share
I hope these little reminders will be nuggets in your growing arsenal of tools for the trade!
Namaste

These are all excellent tips, Michelle. A pet peeve of mine is text that is too light in color or too small. It's always helpful to have reminders like these. Thank you, my friend.
All the best,
Sue
