Good morning Guys 'n Dolls!

I wish you a great weekend - whether you find yourself at work, play, or rest - or having a cuppa.

Just a few pointers to share from author Christina Hills. She has a few recommendations as to how to create more content if you decide to do it yourself versus outsourcing.

Points:

  1. Grab a magazine - look at the titles on the cover - be inspsired
  2. Check out social media - a bevy of thoughts you can expand on
  3. Read your own content and review comments - just revamping the past
  4. Read blog comments on other sites related to your site(s)/industry - you can find info that needs explanation or help (reviews)
  5. Make a list of 'top 5, top 10' for your readers - we all love 'lists' and bullet points are easier to read/digest

If we simplify things, it makes the task so much easier. It really is not difficult, it is basically planning and then taking that first step.

Have a great weekend.

Namaste

Looking through magazines is something I've been doing for months! I would say a at least half of my posts came from magazines. I also like using good ole fashioned books.

Love the confirmation of this method, Vee.

Great help Michelle.
Thanks for sharing

You're welcome, Arnel. Much success on your journey.

Great tips! I think reviewing your content and reading the comments can often give you another perspective about your niche that you hadn't thought off. I also like looking at future trends to understand what is the thinking going forward in my niche.
For example, One of my newest posts was inspired by a new technology, called WiGait, that can detect when an elderly person is about to fall.
A reader commented that she wished this technology was around years ago. She had an elderly uncle who didn't survive a bad fall, but would make sure that the whole family is now aware of this breakthrough.

Yet another reader pointed out that technology similar to WiGait would also be useful to keep track of babies that are going from the crawling to the walking stage.

Another post was inspired by a technology that fosters empathy with chronic pain sufferers by enabling non patients to "see" someone's pain.

In short, there are many ways to be inspired. Sometimes we look at today, but sometimes we have to look at what will happen tomorrow.

Absolutely, Thabo. It does help we look all around us and use the tools available to us in the present, past, and future. You just never know when it can help someone.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.

These are great tips Michelle. I also always check goggle alerts for my niche and have gotten inspiration from there too.
