HAVING TROUBLE WITH FTP ACCESS? HERE'S A SOLUTION.

Hiya, Gang.

Have done a quick article to help any who are having trouble logging in to their FTP accounts and needing a full site backup.

Over the past few days, quite a few WA members have mentioned on WA Chat that they cannot get into the FTP side of their WA site. FTP is required when you want to do a TOTAL site backup, including everything at that site EXCEPT the database details.

By doing a regular FTP backup you'll ensure that you can restore your site onto ANY hosting platform.

We've noticed a small problem when accessing the FTP system at WA using FileZilla.

DO NOT WORRY

Do not worry - this is only a typo kinda error problem NOT a system problem. We could not access our FTP account using the instructions we found at WA because the passwords did not match.

WE ACCESSED OUR FULL FTP SYSTEM BY REPLACING THE FTP PASSWORD DISPLAYED UNDER THE FTP DETAILS WITH THE SITE PASSWORD GIVEN WHEN YOU ACCESS YOUR SITE VIA THE SITE MANAGER AT WA. - IE - USE THE PASSWORD THAT'S THE MAIN ADMIN PASSWORD FOR YOUR SITE RATHER THAN THE FTP PASSWORD SHOWN IN THE SITE DETAILS AREA.

We had immediate & full access and were able to do everything we needed to do.

Hope this helps anyone who is having problems accessing the WA FTP using FileZilla.

All the best to you all, Gang!
