Google rankings success
Last Update: Apr 15, 2014
Well here's a sight for sore eyes. After 6 months I have a page ranking position 1 on page 1.
I now have 8 keywords on 8 pages/posts ranking on pages 1,2,4,5,7,10,13 and 18.
My main keyword for my site was ranking on pages between 7 to 9 for months I couldn't seem to get it any higher. So I thought I'd try some seo I'd gathered from other members here.
Within a week of doing the following it has risen to page 4.
Firstly I added an xml sitemap, training courtesy of That Helpful Dude.
And then I added meta data to each of my pages and posts as per Tommy's training.
Now I have no real evidence if this had any affect, as I was also adding content on a regular basis, but it does seem somewhat coincidental.
Either way I'm very happy and suggest it's worth a try for your own website.
I'm learning at turbo speed here at WA too. I just did what you are talking about. I didn't even know what a snippet was until yesterday, I was working on my pages to improve the content when I literally stumbled on the snippet area at the bottom of the edit page. Since I'm not there yet in the training, I thought I'd just try it out.
When I looked at my permalink now, wow it's makes sense. The snippet is what sets you apart on google. The more interesting the snippet the more likely someone is going to go to your site.
Thanks again and good luck.
I love this and the fact that you have tracked the impact of your changes, which shows that doing it right brings results.
That is systematic and thorough. God, not the devil is in the details....LOL
Hey Mike ... just make sure when you are checking that you are not logged into Google and that you are checking in the "incognito" mode. Lot's of discussion on here about that ... to get accurate results....
Thanks Joe, I know all about that. I got the info from Jaaxy site rank, and double checked it with google in incognito. All good.
